This is kinda dumb question I know but what does the bible say about girls having sex with older guys? I know havin sex with a guy before being married is a sin and all but some of my friends say its not wrose if the guys are older if you dont get caught. Is that true? I’m 14 and my friends are like 15.

The LEGAL consequences, in some places, can be lighter for couples where BOTH partners are under the age of consent or the age of 18.

That has nothing to do with the moral consequences (ie whether it’s a worse sin in some circumstances or not). In that case the age of the partners doesn’t matter unless either is so young as to make it a breach of the law or paedophilia as well.

You need more immediate advice than we can give here. Sex with a 14-year-old girl is statutory rape. I know of no jurisdiction in the world today that permits it as a matter of law between a grown man and a girl of that age, and in every state of the United States it is punishable, and often punished (read the newspapers in a rural jurisdiction such as where I live) by lengthy prison sentences. It is not a question of the girl wanting it and keeping it quiet. It is a question of the presumption in law that any man who would take advantage of such a situation is committing a very severe crime.

Crime and sin overlap to a greater degree than many people recognize. In general, if you look at what is criminal, it is almost always also sinful, though the reverse is not true because moral teachings are often stricter than can be considered reasonable as enfoceable laws. But not this one. Stay away from pursuing such thoughts, and if your girlfriends are doing so, find a new set of friends. This from a high school teacher who has seen everything. Did Hawaii change their law yet? I heard they were working on getting the age limit raised but it was 14 so your post may or may not still be untrue. Other than that I think Canada is 14 and if they have raised it as well then there are still other countries that go as low as 12. That being said I personally think 16 is the right age for consent even though my state has an 18 age limit as do most states. By the way, I’m not saying I think 16 year olds should have sex; I just think a 16 year old is fully aware of his or her actions regarding sexual relations and the law can unjustly punish an 18 year old dating a 16 year old if it is 18 and even most coservative parents will allow theit children to start dating at 16.

I found a chart which is easily googled (I’m certainly not going to enable by providing the URL), and if you go around the world, there is a little more wiggle room than I indicated, but in no state of the US, including Hawaii, is it lower than 16, which BTW is the most common age, not 18. Canada on this site has a listing of 14/16/18 meaning it differs by province just as it differes by state in the US, but I would be appalled to find that any Canadian province still has an age of consent of 14. I also have to believe that much of the information on any chart is going to be out of date. The central European countries that were communist a few decades ago, for instance, tend to show lower AOCs, but until someone corrects me, I doubt very much that modern Hungary has an AOC of 14. That’s not the case even in bastions of liberal hedonism like Denmark and the Netherlands.

What do you mean by “getting caught”? Bringing a new life into the world and aborting/murdering that new life before it is born to avoid getting caught? There are very real consequences to extra marital sex, and usually the older person in the relationship would be more culpable for they have had longer to grow in the understanding of consequences for actions. A 15 year old who is seduced by a 25 (or even 18) year old would normally be less culpable than the 25 year old.

There are STD’s out there, too, even if one is using contraception (which in itself in wrong). Unmarried people should NOT engage in sexual activity. Period. Regardless of age. An older guy who really loves and cares for a younger girl would never expose her to those risks and a younger girl who cares for her guy wouldn’t expose him to the risk of serious jail time for statutory rape.
 
Aly, I know the lure and excitement of an older guy liking you (or your friend) seems great, but it isn’t. It was an older guy who was into me during high school who told me that all adults have sex. I wasn’t strong enough to say no. I have dated many older guys (unfortunately) and all told me that sex was the “adult” thing to do. It isn’t, and having many years of pain, hurt and depression as a result isn’t worth it. Please tell your friend that those of us who have experience with “older guys” say that she is heading down a road full of mistakes and sorrow.

I am not a biblical scholar but as far as I know, in the New Testament, sex with anyone that you are not married to is forbidden.

Believe me, you will ALWAYS be caught, if not by others, at least by your own conscience.
Your friends are wrong.
Get a bible and ask them to show you where their idea is okayed.
If you are getting your information from that whole story of Lot giving his daughters to visitors, I understand your confusion. That part bothered me too.
 
The argument of wheter or not it is statutory rape is neither here nor there…it doesn’t matter…Girls at 14 years old should not be having sex with guys younger than them…their same age…or older (especially older)…they shouldn’t be having sex at all!!! Regardless of the legal ramifications, it can result in severe emotional and pyschological damage…not too mention it is a mortal sin. They should be waiting until they are old enough to enter into the sacrament of marriage, and wait until they have said their vows to their spouse and become joined in the eyes of God.
 
I believe that canon law allows a female to enter the vocation of marriage at fourteen and a male at sixteen. So technically,a 14 year old girl can have sex with an older guy with without sinning as long as they are married. State law varies from state to state.

I think you already have a clue of what is the right thing to do (or not do). The other posters here have reminded you of the many risks involved, including pregnancy, STD’s, abuse and so on, so let me add a little more. Does your reputation mean anything to you? Let me assure you that guys love to verbalize their exploits and conquests. A girl will be marked as ‘easy’ among the guys at school, and the only attention she will be able to attract from them is the chance at sex. A girl that sleeps around will not be desirous to that ‘nice’ guy, who wants to be with you, just because you’re you.

I googled that same chart earlier which is why I said Hawaii may or may not be 14 anymore. When I googled it a couple years ago it said 14 with legislation being worked on to raise it. However, I guess you can be appalled since I would be willing to bet almost anything that there are a Canadian province or two that still has 14 for their age of consent. I’ll place my money on the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. There are so few people there let alone girls that the guys are probably just dieing for one to reach the age of consent lol.
 
ANYONE (male or female) having any kind of sex with a minor (any kind of genital contact) could be not only charged with statutory rape, BUT ALSO could be labelled as a sex offender … FOR LIFE.

That means having to register and be publicly humiliated AND whenever the law changes, having to move so that you are not near a school or other place where young people congregate including (depending on the wording of the law) … bus stops.

FOR LIFE.

:o :o :o ** My province (Alberta) still has the age at 14. I believe several attempts have been made to raise it to 16, but all have failed. Sick.**

Your friend may be impressed by his age but what does that mean? He hasn’t gotten himself killed yet?

Trust me, a few more years and this guy will be extremely creepy, to weird to get a girl his own age, so he goes after those younger, more innocent, and therefore are easier to manipulate. Run.
 
I can tell you the law in most states makes it a crime to have sex with an underage girl. Sadly, more than half the teens in our 4 county area who are either preganant and give birth, or have abortions, were impregnated by a man over 21. That means there are a lot of sickos out their. Mature well-adjusted men do not go after children.

a) you are 14. If you are in US it is not allowed to have sex with older men. It’s cleared as people above say

b) if you are catholic, sex before marriage in any form is not allowed - otherwise it’s a sin , and you know this.

c) God is always there and watching you. 😛 so you are caught by God.

d) People who get caught by public aren’t being caught because they wanted to be caught unless they have some really bad taste.

Firstly I am an older man, and have counselled youth asolessent and families through this situation on many occasions. I married on the 16th of Dec this year my wife is 14 years younger than I. For your own good will I will give you this information straight.

Your question is not dumb, the only thing dumb is that you seem to be getting right smack into something you have no understanding about.
Here is the answer Jesus would give you, and it is from the Bible.
Jesus tells us in the bible that when two people come together in sexual bonding they take in the spirits that are there with both of them (do you want that).
For instance IF a girl and a boy (man) have sexual contact (which it is NOT ) you would be not having sex but bodily LUST, since God made Love making for marriage.
Here is what happens. The same spirit of uncontrollable lust is coming right into you both, it tells you that any pain for the girl will only last a little while and that this is ok.

Why it tells you this is because it works covertly(it hides the truth) it lies by telling you that it is your body, it tells you that the government ok’s this, it doesn’t tell you that most if not all governments are governed themselves by satan. I have seen girls end up in prostitution because of the end product of loose sex.
At the present time it doesn’t seem like that to you, but it aims towards that when people get into loose sex because the spirit that you listen to lies telling you that it is your body???.. Isn’t it supposed to belong to God!!!

My daughter was murdered by a boyfriend who took her to his house, they started having sex, children came from it, he wanted more, drugs came into the scene and he started pushing her into drugs to control her then he wanted more drugs, prostitution came in and latter he murdered her. Two months latter in front of the three children he hung himself saying he was going to be with mum.
I believe that I am qualified to give you true guidance here and pray that you resign to giving your sexuality over to Jesus, that way satin will not be able to take control over you. God gives us a spirit of Control, where as satin is a controlling spirit, I guess you wouldn’t want satin controlling you…

Was there any moment you should say to yourself “wait a minutes, I am hanging out with the wrong groups of friends?”.

It is nothing wrong about asking the questions, but my advice to you is you should hang out with another group that don’t talk much about this stuff.
