Nonsense. Chastity, within marriage and outside of it, is a very important issue that mature people can and ought to discuss.Talking about it is sexualizing the relationship as much as physically doing it.
In the modern dating world, if a Catholic intent on practising chastity does not speak up they can find themself in the way of temptation pretty quickly. Maybe such a situation was a catalyst for the OP discussing this issue with this girl?
