Does such a thing exist? I have a lot of questions, some quite specific that I’m not jumping at the bit to ask in a public forum or frankly in a one on one conversation in person if I can avoid it.

Are there any general guidelines on sexuality between a married man and woman out there?

A couple hopefully tame and sufficiently vague examples would be, what is the morality of …

Entertaining intimate thoughts of your spouse while at work.

Initiating sex when fatigue is such that there is genuine doubt of the ability to complete a full “sex act”.

But new questions pop up all the time and some words from the Church that would lend themselves to forming correct decisions would be wonderful.

I have found the following books to be immensely helpful:

Good News About Sex and Marriage

Holy Sex! A Catholic Guide to Toe Curling, Mind Blowing, Infallible Loving

I can’t see how it would be inappropriate to think about your spouse at work, unless it somehow interfered with being able to do your job. Sending playful texts back and forth could even be a good way to “gear up” for an evening together. 🙂 The important thing is that you not regard your spouse as an object that exists for your own pleasure.

If you are really thinking you may be too tired to “go all the way,” I would (personally) suggest catching up on sleep instead just to be practical! Unless you have little ones at home and know that you aren’t going to have another chance to be intimate for a very, very, very long time. 😛

A very practical question that many newlyweds (at least those who are virgins at the time of their marriage) do not even know to ask: Why did (newly married wife) get a bladder infection on our honeymoon?

Not a very romantic question. But apparently something that a lot of newlyweds learn the hard way. Wives-to-be might want to have a frank discussion about hygeine with an older sister, mother, doctor, etc to avoid this unpleasantness!

Or they can look up the answer on the internet- it’s pretty simple- empty your bladder right after you have intercourse. It helps to clear out bacteria from the urethra that causes urinary tract infections that might have gotten there during the normal course of sex.

As I said, not a question many newlyweds even know to ask, as simple as it may sound (hygeine beforehand is also helpful). But it’s not the kind of thing that comes up i sex ed as I recall. I suppose one can rely on Google and the internet for a lot of information about sex these days, although there’s something to be said about talking to someone you trust…

Honestly, I do not understand what the pre-cana preparation is. What is its function?
In general, during the time before the wedding, what are the topics that are discussed with the priests and the couples?
During pre-cana preparation, did you talk about the sexual morality, about the marital act, about the sexual harmony, about the rights on the body, about the obligations on the body, and about the duties on the body… with corollaries?

I do not understand because the marriage is a sexed, and sexual institution, and a sexed and sexual contract: the mutual and reciprocal donation of bodies. Why no or a little bit information on the rights, the obligations and duties about the conjugal sexuality: where, when, how, why and what for…etc.???

As catholic , we are in rights to get full information of state of marriage during the period before the wedding day , and more for the young people. What is the moral responsability of priests and of catholic parents?

Priests and couples of pre-cana preparation have to do their job, and have to take their responsabilities.
