Mary is my mother. I can’t really rely on my earthly mother so I rely on Mary. Whenever I am sad, scared, sick, lonely, etc. I know I can turn to Mary. She is always there.

To me, Mary is not only my loving Mother, but she is also my close friend. A few weeks ago, I read a post on Facebook saying that St.Therese disliked the praying the Rosary. But, she loved Mary! To me, I used to say it occasionally, but now I say it at least one these days. I find that by meditating upon our Lord’s life, I find a huge comfort and I’m getting close to Jesus. She is a guide to me that leads me to her loving Son, our Lord Jesus Christ! She always intercedes for us, sinners!

what’s not to love about Mary. I’m kind of a mama’s boy when it comes to her.

She used to mean a lot to me but she seems extremely distant to me now. I don’t normally pray for her intercession anymore.

She is a marvelous example of faith. She received the promise from the Lord to bear the Christ made flesh into this world. She accepted this blessing with faith and raised our Lord that he might save us from our sins. And she provided witness to Luke of the incarnation of Christ that this might be faithfully preserved and handed down to us in his Gospel.

@SeekHisFace, reading your past posts, I’m wondering what the purpose of this thread is for. I don’t want to doubt your sincerity but I would like to know that any response would be received in good faith. Could you explain why you are asking this question?

I fumble for words when it comes to explaining what my Mary means to me. Those who know me would probably be thinking. Say what??? Mark…at a loss for words? Impossible!!! 😉
She’s an enormous part of my every moment!

Our Blessed Mother Mary is very special to me. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave her to us at the foot of the cross. She loves all of us and desires that we pray and make sacrifices for those who do not know her Son.

I love that our Lord gave us His Mother to be our Mother, from His cross… and that she was human , although without sin, she pities the human condition. She gave us the rosary and promises to go with it. It doesn’t make life easy, but more tolerable. She holds us up to her Son, and holds her son up to us. Like any mother, she just exhales pardon and love for her children. I love mama Mary.

Mary is the one through whom my I first came to know God… it all started with her and a year or so later I converted. More specifically it was Black Madonna of Częstochowa. She was there in the beginning of my journey, she held my hand and led me to my Savior. That I will never forget!

Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us Sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I just know Mary loves me very much and I guess that’s the basis of what she is to me, a loving mother.

Sometimes contemplating the crucifixion I want to pray for and comfort Mary. How awful that day was for her. Contemplating the mysteries of the Rosary fills our house with her gentle presence.

She’s the mom who takes me by the hand and leads me to Jesus. Heck, sometimes she’s the mom that picks me up like a baby and carries me to Jesus.

She is the greatest fruit of humanity, the new ark of the covenant, the woman who crushed the head of the serpent, the woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet, first among saints.

I’m curious, I’m trying to understand. Before making this thread I resolved just to read the responses and not to argue or be contentious about the responses, not that I think I have been contentious on CAF?
I can’t think of what I may have posted to make you skeptical.
If you read my previous posts you probably realise that spirituality is important to me. I guess I’m trying to see the extent to which Mary is incorporated in people’s spirituality and, yes, trying to work out to what degree I think this is “OK” Marian devotion is something with a long history and many of the heroes of the faith had Marian devotion so I’m not all out opposed to it, I just don’t really understand to what extent I think it’s a healthy part of a spiritual life.

I’ll be honest I was a little curious about how popular the post would be, a little while ago I created one on the glories of Christ, I was longing to hear my saviour praised, but it got almost no traction so there was probably a part of me wondering how this one would go comparatively, probably pride.

There I have examined my motives as best I can!

To be fair its not exactly a fair comparison.
In this post you are specifically asking for interaction, while your post for Christ didn’t.
"There was no “Tell me whats your favorite thing about Christ.”

Oh I’m not pretending to be reasonable, I think it was a motivator, not the sole one. He asked me why ask, I was honest, perhaps I shouldn’t have been because now you will all think I was trying to trip you up, which I really wasn’t. It was more a pride thing, wanting to say something that will get interest

Surely I’m not the only one who is a little immature sometimes. It seems I shouldn’t admit it though
