Share your advice for the Youth in The Church!

Hi Everyone!

I am giving a speech in Delta Junction, Alaska tomorrow and I wanted to see if y’all had anything you wanted the youth to know regarding keeping your faith after high school. Any advice you think it is important or that was helpful for you during the transition from youth to young adult in The Church!

• You sin in regards to the flesh, go to confession, live life for 60 years, go to final judgement. You look back on your life and ask, was it really worth the risk of losing Heaven to do ____ with person ____ for a few minutes?
• Be cautious of your sources of knowledge of Catholicism. You will be surprised how much Catholic Churches can vary.
• Worship music is similar to a drug in that the more you get hit with it, the less impact the same song genre has.
• Faith may not rapidly die, just a gradual not showing up to mass until your faith is gone.
• Make a folder in your phone called church or t to be hidden. In that folder make a folder for Music, Church Documents, Apologetics, Catholic Content on YouTube, and so on.
• For the app lovers: Laudate, Victory, Click To Pray, FOCUS Equip, and Catholic Answers.
• Nothing prepares you to debate or ask your New Atheist professor about Catholicism. Your Catholic Education and Confirmation Retreat have not prepared you to debate an atheist professor. Losing a debate gains you nothing but hurts the faith of others who see you loose. Embrace silence for the sake of the Gospel. Talk after class to anyone you can somewhat trust.
• DisOriention - Keep your Catholic Kids Faithful through College I have seen every one of these in play.
• Separate the valid points of Feminism (No touching Woman, pay the same, their is bad stuff happening to woman in some countries) from the sexual agenda (abortion, birth control, and so on). We can not discount Feminism entirely off the face of the planet. Just do expect mostly concerning content in class.
• Your mind is the content it consumes. You got at least a week of Steubenville talks, 6 days of FOCUS talks on their app, more content than you could ever imagine on YouTube.
• Have friends from all religions, both because conversation and fellowship is always good, and The New Evangelization will not occur if only Catholics talk with Catholics.
