Good choice Rob.
“Our God Reigns.” An oldie, but still a staple that have been singing for decades, especially the first verse and fifth verse: “Out from the tomb…” ending with a chorus of “Our God Reigns…” again.
Be Still My Soul
How Great Thou Art
Sweet Sacrament Divine
Dear Lord and Father of Mankind
Here I am Lord
Be Still for the Presence of the Lord
At the Name of Jesus
And a few I never seem to hear anymore:
Rock of Ages
The Rugged Cross
Nearer My God to Thee
Here is the Dona nobis pacem, from Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. Several times the orchestra interrupts with sounds of war, giving extra weight and poignancy to the singers’ pleas for peace.
My favorite music and scene are when Clare comes to join the order on Palm Sunday and the friars all sing “Veni Sponsa Christi.” But I couldn’t find that clip on YouTube.
