Cardinal Ranjith on our Holy Father…

“The Holy Father is one of the greatest gifts God has given to the Church in modern times.”

To those who love BXVI, please tell us why 🙂

I love the Holy Father because he defends the faith and is unwilling to compromise with those who want to change the faith in order to suit their own selfish needs.

I respect Benedict XVI as a theologian and I have learned a great deal from reading his books and encyclicals. He is helping the Church to interpret the theology of Vatican II in light of Tradition and I think we will see the fruits of his work long after he has gone.

I am also very grateful that he has given us the Tridentine Mass without restrictions. I really agree with his liturgical opinions and I predict that the liturgy will improve vastly in the future.

I love Him because He is a bastion of Holy Orthodoxy in the Church and He is unwilling to compromise the faith “once and for all delivered to the saints.”

I love him because he understands that Vatican II was a renewal with Holy Tradition and not a depart from it.

I love him because he is the first Pope that I ever known and accepted as the successor to St. Peter and leader of the Holy Roman Patriarchate.

I love him because he is my Patriarch, and my “German Shepherd.”

GOD BLESS OUR HOLY FATHER, BENEDICT XVI!!! 👍

Papa is neither milquetoast nor tyrant. He shepherds Holy Mother Church with wisdom and love, guiding his flock always with its best interests in mind. He leads by his noble example and by his incredible writings.

I love him because he is my first Pope. I also love him because of his humility.

I’ve read quite a few of his books that were written back when he
was cardinal as well as his most recent writings, and each one of them reveals that God has given him the gift of a brilliant mind. His books and writings have also helped me in my struggles of the faith. I also like his somewhat bookish personality and can relate to him in that aspect 😃 .

What I love most about him though is how he approaches any issue with humility. He dosen’t pretend to know everything, but what he says comes shows a genuine passion for Christ and his church. When was hosen to become a bishop, he expressed that he wanted to stay in the university he worked in and to continue his studies, but he instead was obedient. When he was a cardinal, he told John Paul II that he wanted to retire and return to his studies, but he chose to obey the pope instead. Even when he was elected to the papacy, he did not at first seem so enthusiastic about it, but he said that since it was God’s will he would do it. 👍

Many people forget that being a pope is not a glamorous and easy job. He has to deal with all sorts of problems both outside and inside the church, and many times, in order to speak out the truth, he has to say many things that are very unpopular in our world. That takes a lot of courage. Pope Benedict XVI, in my own humble opinion, has so far done this and examplified what a true leader of the church is.

I love him because is the pope and I love my Catholic faith.

Thanks to all who replied so far. 🙂

I love the way he seems to prefer to lead by example. Very prudent.

To those who have read his books, which one do you think is his best so far ? I haven’t read any yet, but plan to start.

TIA

God Bless Our Holy Father !

He is extremely intelligent. Extremely learned.

He loves the truth and he is courageous and CLEAR SEEING.

(Not to get too political but I have to say, that when he made the comments he did about Islam I was so very pleased. I was so proud of him. So many people are infected with liberalism, political correctness and so forth…that they can’t tell their … Ok, you get the picture). Pope Benedict XVI is awesome and he proves it everyday. Great man, strong man. A man who is truely fit to lead.

(Just as an aside, contrast what Pope Benedict said about Muhammad with what another world spiritual leader the Dalai Lama said about Muhammad.) Then you will truely see who speaks the truth and who speaks lies.)

And his books are awesome too. He is humble yes, but more importantly I think, he has the courage to speak the truth.

I love him! We are so lucky to have him. He will bring the church back on track. (allowing the Tridentine Mass is a sure sign of this). He is no fool people, realize that. He is amoung the smartest Pope’s we’ve had in history!

I LOVE your sign about the cafeteria. Where did you find it and can it be gotten as a bumper sticker? Thanks.

If you go on www.popebenedictxvifanclub.com, click on “shop” on
the red bar, and finally click on “stickers” on the left havd margin, just scroll down a little and you will find the sticker, as well as others. Sorry I couldn’t give you the direct link… something weird is going on with my computer right now but I hope that works for you
