During normal times, my husband and I “church hop” quite regularly. We are blessed here in St. Louis to have many beautiful churches and we enjoy visiting them.

So, while we miss both our home parish and Mass in person right now, the one nice thing is so many parishes are live streaming Mass. DH and I have are continuing our “church hopping” and are looking for recommendations of great churches, awesome homilists or whatever you think makes the best streamed Mass. We’ve “attended” our seminary, St. Pat’s in NY, our home parish and a few others in our archdiocese.

So what to you recommend? Links and Mass times a bonus!

Thanks.

Bishop Robert Barron, but that is a tape, not live.
Live stream from Mt. Angel Abbey (times on their web site); they also stream some of their liturgy of the hours. The priest giving the homily varies, because the Abbey has a number of priests of course. It is nice to see a community at Mass. If you look around the web site, they also have past homilies by Abbot Jeremy Driscoll, OSB (who is also, incidentally, the author of What Happens at Mass, which is just excellent).
Also the live stream from the Archdiocese of Portland is good, although I think that’s usually just Sunday. I like Archbishop’s Sample’s homilies.

St. Mary of Pine Bluff near Madison, Wisconsin live streams both TLM’s by Fr Z, and OF ad orientem by Fr. Heilman. The carved altar is very nice. The homilies give a traditional view.

I sometimes watch the Diocese of Cleveland daily Mass which is an OF largely sung by the priest.

I tend to look for Masses being streamed live at noon or afternoon, because sometimes my schedule does not permit me to do morning Mass. I found a very nice OF Mass from a nice church in Orlando at 12:15 weekdays.

Also one from the Cathedral in Honolulu that is in the morning their time but for me on the East Coast it’s in the middle of the afternoon (2 pm weekdays). They have good homilists.

Here is another Hawaii parish with a good homilist that I discovered because their 5 pm Saturday vigil streams at 11 pm my time, this was helpful when I realized I had forgotten to watch a Saturday Mass and the day was almost over.

Fr Mike Schmitz gave a lovely homily yesterday:
I’ve been watching a lot of his videos recently; he’s such an energised and positive speaker it’s hard not to sit and smile when you listen to him.

St John Cantius in Chicago. The quality of the streaming is very good, and they have both OF and TLM solemn Mass. I rarely hear solemn Mass in person so this is nice. The choir is good too.

We just got parking lot masses, yay! You do have to stay in the car and listen to it on an FM frequency.
