in reading the initial posts of many in the Meet & Greet thread i thought i would be a good idea to the CAF newbies (and old-bies too) a single spot to share their testimonies.

let us begin 👍

i am a new bee and want to stay longer but i do have a problem with grammer and spelling

spellcheck=evolution

this is my stand point on the matter i believe in

parables (multi device the word of god in the bible) = creation

ive usually travelled in the booms of hell to understand such methods how else could someone write so profane or if you prefer dime under gas station in nanaimo and or baseball crards hidden in basement in nanaimo

im a riddle master at best keep people on there toes but dont be always so quick to place me under a shower head unless you dare me to prove my posts. ya ill probablly get ridiculed with unsound proof or not so appropriate proofs or beliefes, none the less i retrieve them from hell you cant expect much.

basically im an easy going guy but as everyone and everything we all fall short in the eyes of god as i am human i do have boundries that might get me grumpy.

i believe goodness can also be found in all religion but if i were to follow someone it would be the pope i would fight side by side by him with the sword of justice in judgement day i only want the best there is for when the good will come they will show very few promises

Hi. My name is Ray. Father of 4 with 1 grandchild. Devoted Catholic now. Left the faith in my teens to agnostic and sometime atheist. After a slow reconversion that took nearly 25 years I am back. Some of us are slower than the rest of you. I have been listening to Catholic Answers live for nearly 3 yrs. Have had a lot of questions answered without ever calling in. It seems that I was not the only one with questions.

we’re all on a never ending journey, searching for our Lord!

Hello all - 🙂

Born and raised Roman Catholic and have never left. Truly love the Catholic Religion. I am helping raise my 2 year old grandaughter and she is my light.

My thought to share today is to please remember the Souls in Purgatory as they desperately need our prayers and offerings.

Yours in Christ,
Sorrows

More than 2 years ago, I thought most parish’s priests’ jobs were to celebrate mass and hear confessions. Until I started joining different ministry at my parish (been member for 2 years), I have realized how hard-working priests are. This motivates me to pray for them, for vocations, and help me try to do my volunteer jobs better at my parish.

👍 …A+ signature, Water…

My name is Barb, 62yrs old and am an Australian living in Australia. I suffer Bipolar Disorder. I live alone, my 15year marriage is now annulled and my ex husband has remarried…I get on great with both of them. My two sons are now adults, 43 almost and 46 almost. The 46yr old is actually my foster son - but I have been his Mum since he was eight and we regard each other as Mum/son. Both are still single and have never married nor remotely looked like it. One is a newspaper photograher and the other cares for the elderly. They are both happily employed and living independantly…to their joy and mine!!!😃 Our relationship is sometimes mother/son and at other times mate/mate or pal/pal.

I live alone purely as personal choice and happily so. I am an adult student on an adult college campus here. I live under private vows now some 25yrs or so and are now perpetual vows for life, and have a priest as director/confessor. I live a specific way of life that has just unfold in my path over 30 or so years. I call it simply “Bethany” which is also the name of my home here.
I am pretty happy go lucky and relaxed (meaning quite casual in style or outlook)…but a regular Virginia Wolfe if upset in the slightest by anything or anyone…http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif
Welcome indeed to all new-bies to CAF…I am an old-bies … being Australian, Aussies would love that term …and all who know me would find the expression most apt:D 😃 😃

Thanks, Barbara. I’ve had hard-time to bring the signature into my daily life activities. It is very hard.

I am sorry that you are suffering Bipolar Disorder, but from what I saw and read your posts, I wanted to think that you are dealing with your suffering with grace - You are more calm than I could ever be.

God bless.

Hi Water…Even St. Faustina had problems with faults and failings and she is most open and honest about them in her diaries…so we out here “in the rank and file” can take great heart as we (or I should say “I”) stumble hopefully on the path along with The Lord calls us in life with His Loving Mercy, Kindness and Understanding the light of our lives … and he looks on us with great Compassion too I think - cause "He’s been there and done that, huh…and though never failed as I frequently do, He does insight with empathy from experience what the struggle with our humanity actually is and how difficult it can be. Where on earth would be all be without The Lord’s Love and Mercy!!!

Thank you very much, Water…that was a beautiful thing to say! May The Lord richly bless you for it, for my hands are forever empty. My version of Bipolar is nowhere near as severe anymore as it once was and as many must endure it day in and day out and perhaps for their whole lives.
I had to smile at “calm” though, Water…man oh man if you ever sighted me when I drop my bundle, spit the dummy and loose my cool, you may just need to revise the word “calm”. Ah well I’m human like everyone and the surprise is not when I stumble and fall on the way in whatever way…the truly surprising thing for me and all, is when we dont!!!😉

But when I DO SPIT THE DUMMY …stand well clear as any who know me do!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_5_11.gif

The Lord’s Blessings and Peace to you and yours, Water…cacha again on the rounds of The Forums:thumbsup: …Barb:)

My name is Scott, and I am a revert, and I am annulled, 38 years old. I still love my former wife as my sister in the Lord and do not regret our attempt to love each other for life.

I was brought into the RCC at age 9, after private CCD with a young nun. I believed everything and was as faithful as I could be to what I did learn in the RCC.

I have diagnosis that is currently OCD, and I may have aspergers syndrome a little bit too, at least I think I may.

When I was 10, I got really afriad I would go to hell, but my parents calmed me down, after that I didn’t care so much about religion.

When I was in HS and college, I despaired of my worth as a person because I was not strong physically and was getting mentally ill. Through it, I found God and my immeasurable worth as a child of God.

Later, I began to question my faith and wandered into terrifying Protestantism, but when I found out that the RCC is who decided what books go into the Bible, I came back to RCC.

Since then, I have devoured the CCC and apologetics books and slowly grown in the faith.

I have my story in This Rock, October '99 issue.

I am an oldbie and love the forums.

Now that I’ve mastered basic apologetics, I am consumed with understanding the mystical meaning of salvation history (the apocalypse).

Hello Everyone! I am so glad to have found you! My name is Diane and I am 55 years old. I came into the Church during the Easter Vigil of 1995. In October of 1994 I was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the uterus which metastasized to the liver, and was given 6 months to live. I had never been baptized and was in the process of investigating the Catholic faith. After the news, I asked to see the hospital chaplain. We talked for several hours in which I expressed my desire to become Catholic, after which the dear Father left. An hour later, he came back and said he had gotten permission from the Bishop to anoint me, which of course brought me great comfort. Again, he left. Then at 9:30 PM, a nurse came in, installed me in a wheelchair, tubes, IV’s and all. When I asked where they were taking me, I was told that Father needed to see me at the hospital chapel. When I arrived, there was Father in his vestments, and several of the nuns and nurses were in attendance. He then proceeded to baptize me. I was overjoyed! I was facing a hysterectomy the next day and had no idea whether I would even survive the surgery, but yet I had the most peaceful night’s sleep of my life. Well, obviously I survived , and guess what? They found a minute tumor which needed no further treatment and after repeating the CAT scan, no spots on my liver whatsoever! It was not metastasis after all, just protein cysts, which dissolve on their own. Whether I received a healing, or it was merely a misdiagnosis, to me it was a miracle.

Since that time, I have been on the adventure of my life, learning and growing in the Catholic faith. It seems that the more I learn, the more I love the faith, and ironically, the hungrier I am to learn more! I know that this is a place where that hunger can be fed.

Thank you and God bless you all!

Hi, I am 22 years old and have been a catholic my whole life. I’ve never thought much about the religion until recently ( a few years). I began to really think about myself as a catholic and what it is God wants me to do after going through a period of time where I felt the abandonment and separation from God. I couldn’t sleep at night and would pray fervently and cry myself to sleep every night, but still can’t sleep peacefully. It happened for a few nights, until on one of the night, I had a dream that I was falling into a never ending abyss and kept asking God to not abandon me and leave me alone in the darkness. Suddenly, from out of the darkness, there was a light and it came toward me and a hand reach out to me. When I reach for that hand, there was peace and the feeling of abandonment from God slowly disappear. I had a really good sleep that night. That dream felt like it was actually happening. I am still struggling with the idea of being separated from God, but, at least now, I feel that it is not God who is abandoning me. It is me who is abandoning Him through the sins I’ve committed.

Pray that you have peace and trust in God. With this trust in His Great Mercy, you will find His Forgiveness as a remedy to your struggling.

Besides other means including Sacraments, the book that might be very helpful to you is the Diary of Saint Faustina.

that is beautiful, Ipp, may God shower you with His grace. If you feel you have sinned seriously, go to a compassionate priest who is still faithful to the Church, and confess, and you will receive peace. Remember, Jesus said, “Fear not, little children, it is the Father’s Good will to give you the kingdom!”

you seem like a beautiful person, lpp, and I pray that you stay close to Jesus and trust in His mercy. Also ask Mary to be your Mother and pray to her, especially the Rosary, if you can learn it, if you haven’t already. Devotion to the Rosary is a great sign of predestination to heaven.

I pray God bless you always, Lpp.

In her Love,
scott
