I understand that figuring out how to believe is a journey. One of my deepest fears is going through it alone, not knowing how to process it at all. With whom do you share your journey? How do you share it? I find most people are very reluctant to talk about their spirituality…if I don’t hear about it, how do I learn?

Hi,
Your religion is listed as Catholic. As such, you can deepen your spirituality and share your journey by finding a good spiritual advisor. Your local Catholic parish can help you find one who suits your needs.

Blessings,
Stephie

You could share with a spouse or significant other, friends, family, church groups, retreats…

You need a community to support your growth. There is no effective way that I know of to go it alone.

I currently share my spiritual journey with
  • my confessors (I confess weekly)
  • my religious order, the Carmelites (I’m a Lay Carmelite); most especially with my superior, the Regional Director, and with my local community
  • my best friend, who is Catholic and is in Lay Carmelite formation
  • other Catholic friends
I have, in the past, shared my spiritual journey with
  • a faith-sharing group
  • various Bible study groups
  • prayer groups
Most of the sharing of my journey takes place in sharing words around topics of similar interest, such as Carmelite spirituality, Bible study topics, etc. I am used to sharing my spiritual story and talking about spiritual things so it comes easy to me to talk about such things outside of these groups, as well.
