At first you might feel weird, but I assure you that will quickly pass (especially after you get some sun on your newly shorn head 👍 )…many of my friends started shaving their heads - and they weren’t even balding yet, they just liked the way it looked!

LOL, I guess it does! 😉

I use the Mach 3 Turbo on my face, but nothing beats the HEADBLADE for the dome! 😃
 
It’s been 3 full days now and already the DH is almost fully adjusted. He still keeps looking in the mirror and having a little eyepopping but so far, it’s definitely a positive thing for him.

He can always change his mind and let it grow, but at this point, that’s not in the programme. People say it takes as much as 2 weeks to be really comfortable with it.

Watch out! When the wind hits your temples, it’s a shock!
 
We should post some pics of all the brothers [in Christ that is] who went the way of aerodynamics. :cool:

Count me as another one who shaves his head every day.

It is very strange at first, and you will think that everyone is staring at your head. But they really aren’t, it’s just you.
After a while, you come to appreciate it and even like it.

It is strange, but even though I loved having hair in my earlier years, I am equally glad to not have it now that I am in my 40’s.

Just be careful not to use dull blades on the head. I recommend the Gillette Fusion, for I find it gets the back of the head better than anything else.

And just in case you do bleed, have a steptic pencil nearby. And please! Be careful around your ears. If you cut the skin on the ear, it will bleed like you cannot imagine.

Otherwise, enjoy life without hair! I certainly do.
 
As a woman, I must say I find the look very attractive. I think of Patrick Stewart (Jean Luc Picard) or Lauerence Fishburn (Morpheus). Very handsome! 👍
Of course, the worst look in the world besides a bad toupee, is a comb-over. Think Donald Trump. :tsktsk: :nope:
My hubby is getting pretty thin, but so far has only gone down to a buzz. We’ll see what happens in a couple years…
 
My hair was gone by 23. The shaved looked is much better than the dreaded combover! LOL
 
Okay, speaking as a woman, and generalising on behalf of my fellow femmes,
A bald man looks fine, a bald woman on the other hand…
Combovers suck- if you have one lose it.
Yes, we do notice when you wear a toupe.
Grey on a man is good-he looks distinguished-a woman just looks old!
 
I just want to thank many of you who posted here about hair loss. I am only 22 and already thinning out and my guess is I will be bald by my 30s. I have been really worried about it lately and debating whether I should spend money on hair regrowth stuff. However, it would be a lot of money to continuously spend the rest of my life or worse spend a lot of money on some surgury one day and based on what I have read here, guys still look fine with the thinning hair and most women don’t judge much on it.

There are some great web sites where my husband got a lot of insight and great advice about this. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the worst stories were from guys who had transplants. When your hair recedes past the donor area, there are scars that can’t be repaired.

Some people shave their heads entirely, some go for a buzz, some just do the conventional fringe. The point is, that losing hair is N-O-R-M-A-L. It is not all that uncommon for boys to start losing it by age 17.

I wonder if men have always stressed about this? Probably. But one thing is certain: there are plenty of people out there who are thrilled to death to take your $$$ by promising to “fix” what isn’t broken in the first place.

My observation is that all those hair vitamins & shampoos didn’t make any difference. Or even if they did, it just slowed the inevitable. Fortunately, short-short hair, buzzed and bald heads are now commonplace.

It’s been a week now for DH. I’m REALLY getting used to it and I REALLY like it. What I especially like is watching him adjust to it and see how he is moving from painful self-consciousness to a wonderful confidence. He loves not having to worry about which way the wind is blowing.
 
I’ve just celebrated my first 39th birthday of many, and the top of my head is also fighting a losing battle. A word of caution to all would-be shavers: try a eighth-inch clipper attachment or something similar before going all the way, then check your head with opposing mirrors. I was very glad I did that–because lo and behold, behind one ear could be discerned a roughly 1x2 brownish patch of skin, a blemish of some type whose existence I’d never suspected, and which would have been glaring had I shaved everything off. Odd how little a man knows about his own head.
 
My husband shaves his off occassionaly, but he is sixty and has healthy head of hair. Our sons always keep theirs cut really close. Last month sometime he decided to shave it all off, and we were at Chruch - he is a deacon - and was doing the preparation for Divine Liturgy. I heard one of the women whisper to the one next to her, “we must have a visiting priest, I don’t recognize the head” :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Needless to say, I had to hide my face to keep from cracking up laughing.
