Shaving One's Head

The first Sunday my husband came to Church with his new head, I was reading so he had to go into the nave by himself while I lined up in the narthex for the procession. One of the EMHCs said to me: Your husband looks so different! **Did he grow a beard? :rotfl: **

A word of caution to all would-be shavers: try a eighth-inch clipper attachment or something similar before going all the way, then check your head with opposing mirrors. I was very glad I did that–because lo and behold, behind one ear could be discerned a roughly 1x2 brownish patch of skin, a blemish of some type whose existence I’d never suspected, and which would have been glaring had I shaved everything off. Odd how little a man knows about his own head.

My 5 y.o. daughter has a patch of brown skin on the back of hear head. It is called a nevus. We take her to a university hosptial twice a year to get it measured. They could remove it, but now it only seems cosmetic. Since it is under the hair line we aren’t to worried about it. It does increase the chance of skin cancer, but removing it would not reduce the chances so we would not put her through that unless we had to. Look into it. Tim
 
I tried the shaved look once before. I saw guys do it and thought it looked cool.

Two of my friends thought I had leukemia.

I never shaved my head again. I guess some guys have it and some guys don’t…
 
Its been 4-5 years now,as soon as I knowticed a slight amount of thinning on the top of my head,I buzzed it all off.

Now I would never go back.

-I save a ton of money on hair cuts,gels and shampoo.

-When I want a cut,theres no wait.

-Saves a lot of time getting ready,I can shower and be out the door in 15 mins.

-Its cooler in the summer and easyier to wear a hat in the winter cuz I am forever free of hat head:D .

-If I don’t shower first thing in the morning,I don’t look like a mess.

-Most important,not only do I like it,but my wife likes my doo.

-Its really just easier and one less hassle in a hectic world.

After only 2 weeks, my husband has enjoyed discovering all of the above!

I wish I could figure out how to post a picture.

I shave my head every 30 days. I like the feel, it is easier to manage, to keep clean, and never have to worry if it needs grooming. I have a full head of hair (gray but hair) but just like the ease of being bald. BTW, my wife likes it also.

I would never shave my head.
I wouldn’t grow my hair long enough to cover the top of my head as a combover either.

A mans gotta do, what a mans gotta do!

I’ve reached that special time of my life (mid-thirties) where the battle line goes one of three ways. All grey, bald or grey and balding. Unfortunately, it’s number three.

Only way out of this situation and keep any self respect is to loose the lot and request a “number one” from my barber. This is a bit of a pain as it’s November, but the sacrifice is worth it!

E.E.N.S. has tried to get me to shave my head previously, but if the option is between full head of hair and a shave head my wife likes the hair although she prefers it to be neatly and closely cropped.

If however, I start balding she thinks she would prefer the shaved look. As of now, I’m okay in that regard, although I have noticed some thinning where a zuchetto would be.

LOL, we should all look like Rick! Then we’d really look like brother’s (in the Br. sense of the word. 😉 )

My husband thinks he looks like a Carthusian.

Your husband looks alot like our friend Rick, indeed Carthusian is a good descriptor.
