My husband (who is our primary dishwasher guy) has the following method:
–load dishes in as is
–run them through dishwasher as many times as needed
We normally don’t have a lot of volume, but that method doesn’t work quite as well when we have two full loads a day, plus the stuff that didn’t get clean from each previous load.
I’m more of a wash-then-dishwash gal, but I also really like not doing the dishes, so I try not to complain (much).
The big kids have started unloading the dishwasher for us and I’m going to try to get them on the dishwashing crew sometime this year.
