My wife plays the piano and would like a source for sheet music. Both hands not just the melody in the hymnals. The two songs she’s most interested in are “long have I waited for your coming home to Me and living sweetly our new life” and Let there be peace n Earth, and let it begin with me"

These were 2 of her late father’s favorites.

thanks for any info.

Mike

-edit: My wife says the lyric that would best identify the first hymn is: “I will raise you up on eagle’s wings…”

If it’s just those two songs she needs for personal use, PM me and I will send you copies.

If she’s looking for a place to buy a whole collection, I buy my music for church at OCP publications, because it goes along with our particular missals and it matches what the church buys. They have lots of stuff I’ve never looked at, so you may want to give them a viewing.

By the way, the title of the first song, of which you had partial lyrics, is: “Hosea.” In the event your wife truely wants the song with the edited lyrics, that would be: “On Eagle’s Wings.”

Try the GIA web site. These publishers produce “choir,” “guitar” and “organ” versions of their hymnals. And remember, it’s illegal to photocopy this stuff and pass it around. It’s under copyright.

You can buy the keyboard version of the hymnals directly from the company- those are expensive though. If it is for private use for rehearsal purposes only, then it’s ok to make a copy- it’s good to do that so the orignals don’t get lost or torn just don’t use it during Mass, or take it anywhere. www.hymnprint.net has samples of music that you can listen to- if you can play by ear. If not, you could always ask for a copy of the hymn from someone- temporarily, then memorize it.

Most parishes have licenses to make a ceretain amount of copies of things- I think accompaniment books fall into this as well.

They have different type of licenses. Some are lyrics only and others are for single use, like printing in a bulletin. GIA is able to squeeze the most dollars out of the parish this way.

See if you can find used copies of the old Glory and Praise songbooks. (They had vocal books for the pews as well as piano and voacl chart books for the leaders.) That stuff would be in there.

For things like hymns I normally find a midi of the song in question and open it with a midi editor.

Hey Alan, I have a copy of “Do Not Be Afraid - Christopher Willcock” based on Psalm 27, sheetmusic for keyboard accompaniment, but I’ve lost a page, and it’s not on OCP. You wouldn’t happen to have a copy would you? I’m kinda desperate.

There is a website called Sheet Music Plus from which you can purchase sheet music. I have gotten a number of hymns for them.
