Hi all,

I like to invite all to share a time in your life where Jesus touched you in a way that you will never forget.

From a simple event in your life to a life changing experience.

It is my hope and prayer we all can be blessed by the personal testimonies of our fellow Christians as they give witness to the wonderful ways in which Jesus has blessed their lives.

I ask that no debates be posted on this thread.
Let Jesus shine and be glorified.
The following is a video to the song,
“Shine Jesus Shine”

God bless you

I look forward to your testimonies

Hi all,

The following testimony was addressed to me in another thread. I was so spiritually moved by c659smith’s personal experience in how Jesus impacted his/her life I was compelled to share it with you.

Thank you c659smith for giving me permission to post your story.

I do pray that Jesus blesses all readers of your testimony as much as He has blessed me from your wonderful story.

God bless you, c659smith
I know when I am filled with the Holy Spirit(Grace) and when I am not. I try to stay in communion with Christ but at times fall.
I am a cradle Catholic and as such have fallen away. I still believed and had faith Jesus was our Lord and what I needed to do to follow Him but denied that and did not give Jesus what was due him and that is worship and Glory.
Then one day something I became angry and cold like never before because of a situation and remained in that state for a couple of days. hate I was driving one afternoon and wound up at a Caholic Church and walked inside. I do not know why.
Well inside there I stood in an empty church staring at the cross and looking at a statue of Saint Joseph and a seperate statue of Mary and tears began to flow I do not know why for at this point I had no feeling at all.
Well I looked around and said to myself is there anyone in here that will see me crying? but there was no one.
I asked Mary to help me to reach Christ and sat in a pew. Well I sat there and cried and argued with Jesus for awhile and then felt a feeling come over me like I have never felt.
Someone in my head and I believe it to be the Holy Spirit said what are you holding on to? Why do you put your trust in this world? Let go and give it to me.
give me your love, hate, disappointments, and achievements but remember you must give me them all. Put your trust in me and you will never hurt again.
Well that I did and a peace and calm came over me like never before and I cannot explain it other than to say no one could hurt me. I right there was untouchable and I gave my whole self to Christ.
I go to Mass and at times everyday if I can. I understand the Mass like never before. I go to Adoraion weekly and sit ,knell, and pray before Jesus.
The difference now is that it is a two way conversation. I take the time to listen.
Do I still sin and at times fall away from Grace well you bet ya. But I get right back on track real quick as I never ever want to get as far away as I was from Christ.
Why I write what had happened to me about 5 years ago at the ripe young age of 45 is that I was saved as where I was headed was directly to hell.
The Holy Spirit gave me a visit and told me what I needed to do. This is something one cannot teach,
It was not a feeling of being close or wanting to be Holy such as when receiving Confirmation etc…
I was given a gift from God by his Grace.
Does this happen to everyone at one point in their life?
I pray it does
For I have not been the same since.
I have patience, Charity, Love, never ending thirst for knowledge about the bible and my faith.
That to me is what being saved is but I must work at never ever falling like that again and to give it all to Jesus.
I am a Catholic and will profess, teach, and evangelize. I will never ever again be embarrassed or shy of showing my love for him as I know how Peter must have felt when he denied Jesus 3 times

The Eucharist!

A friend got his back pain for many years healed during the Eucharistic Adoration.

My grandmother who was on dead bed for 2 years, couldn’t talk, and couldn’t eat much, smiled right after receiving the Holy Communion. She spoke of “Going Home” to my mom 3 days before she passed away. The night she passed away, she was able to recognize Jesus and received Him in the Holy Communion.

I was blessed to see many blessings when taking the Eucharist to elderly at a local nursing home. Seeing them happy receiving Jesus brings me joy.

It is also a great blessing for me to be able to attend daily mass and to receive the Eucharist at the church near my workplace.

I like to go to Confession often. He’s touched my soul this way - His light reveils many stains of sins in my soul, and His Mercy is great.

happens every year bout this time, when parents of some of our children preparing for 1st commuinion are moved to heal invalid marriages and other situations that have been keeping them away from the sacraments. this year we had a convalidation conference in the parish, and many of these couples will now be married in time to not only receive when their child does, but also complete their initiation in Confirmation this Pentecost. and we do sing Shine Jesus Shine at 1st communion Masses. the kicker is that so often in these families are older children and adults, immediate family and other relations, who are not Catholic and through the grace of these sacraments, are eventually brought into communion with Christ’s Church, his Body visible on Earth. this experience is for me and others who work with these families a truly personal continuing conversion as well, and I cannot overemphasize their positive effects on my own spiritual journey

After I had brought back to The Faith (my reversion) I was so grateful to God that while in bed I began to cry.

With tears streaming down my face I prayed to God that He would show me who was it that was saving me from myself and from my mistakes in the past.

I asked if it was Jesus or Him or The Virgin Mary or The Archangel Michael or one of The Saints.

I asked Him for a sign as I fell to sleep crying.

I woke up hours later. When I woke up, my head was tilted down towards my chest. One of my legs was crossed over the other. My arms were outstretched with my fingers curled in.

In short, I woke up like this…

http://digilander.libero.it/rexur/inglese/images/cristo.jpg

Right there I knew that God had given me the answer as to “who” it was that was saving me…it was (and was always)…

Jesus Christ.

God had spoken directly to me, He interrupted my dream 2 weeks before Lent on a Monday night. He said the words:
“ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE, HAVE FAITH”.
I had to get up and write these words on my tissue box with lipstick in the bathroom b/c I couldn’t find a pen. His voice was very authoritative, I knew it was God who had spoke to me.
When my priest told me I was given a gift and what I thought He meant with these words, I simply said perhaps something will happen to me in my life and that I needed to keep the faith, or for 3 years I preached about Jesus and came across some very atheist people who brought you down. Maybe He was telling me to keep the faith then. Anyway, I know there is a God from these words He spoke to me.
I am as normal as anyone, to look at me you wouldn’t think I was such a defender of my Catholic faith b/c there is a stigma that goes along with religious people as wearing clogs and turtlenecks and carrying a bible. that religious people aren’t very nice looking, or depressed. So far from the truth.
Thank you Lord for this gift.

Hi all,

Keep those testimonies coming.

God :blessyou: all for sharing how Jesus impacted your life.😃

Here is another testimony addressed to me in another thread.

Thank you fbl9 for your wonderful testimony and for giving me permission to post your words, which toched my heart, on this thread.
hi whatisthetruth
Whenever my church has a pot luck lunch after Holy Mass, when we are all done eating, I sneak upstairs kneeling before my Lord in the tabernacle, I have my own private time with Him. sometimes I pray… I let the tears of love stream down my face. even typing this brings tears to my eyes.
I pray that Jesus will shine in all our lives.

Take this little angel and keep her close to you.
She is your guardian angel sent to watch over you.

Mine is very simple, actually. As I was kneeling at Mass during the consecration, I looked up at the stained glass window above the altar to concentrate on the words spoken, and I felt a very powerful sensation rush through me, almost like a punch in the chest of warmth and love. It was very moving!!

I had come to the Catholic faith when I was about 26. At first, I was really “on fire” for the Lord. Then, sort of like the Church at Ephesus, I “lost the love” I had at first. (cf Rev 2:4). I had committed a sin, a whopper, so to speak, and I was so mortified and ashamed that I couldn’t bring myself to go to confession. I suffered from a big dose of pride back in those days. I fell away from the Church and from Jesus at that time. For over five years, I wandered but then I felt like I just had to go back to “church”. I thought at that point in time, that I just couldn’t go back to being Catholic because then I would have to confess and boy oh boy, I couldn’t do that!! I went to a non-denom “mega” church for a while and found it utterly empty and shallow. Where was the Eucharist? Where was the holiness? Where was the liturgy? Nowhere… just a sermon that seemed to inspire others but not me, and music, which seemed to fire other people up, but not me. This troubled me. I wanted to come back to the Lord but I just felt that the non-denom church was really off.

Well, anyway, one day I was in a bookstore. I was looking at the religious book section, thinking that I could find something to soothe my restless soul. Then He spoke to me for the first time, in a real and discernable way. Not hints, not working through other people, not gently guiding me. He spoke. He said my name and then He said “you must go back to Church”. I said, “Lord, I want to, but I don’t know which Church to go to”. At that point, He actually chuckled and said “Oh yes you do”. Then it hit me, like a ton of bricks: I was to go back to the Catholic Church-- immediately-- not next week, not tomorrow, NOW. I put my books back on the shelf, drove to the nearest Catholic Church, told the receptionist that I wanted to come back to the Church and I didn’t know exactly what to do (I was sobbing; she could barely understand me). She told me to sit down and went to get the priest. He heard my confession within a few minutes and welcomed me home. That was about five years ago and I have never again lost my love for the Lord. He touched me in a real and personal way and I will never forget this extraordinary grace. Praise be to Our Lord, Jesus Christ!!

I continue to have special moments with the Lord and each of them are precious. But that moment in the bookstore, changed my life forever. I went from believing God exists and Christ is the Savior of the world to *knowing * God exists and Christ is the Savior of the world. I was blessed beyond measure in this way.

My first confession back was when I felt I was hearing the Lord for the first time in a long while. He said welcome home and I have been waiting for you.🙂

The first prayer I remember saying was a plea, that if God did exist, could He just take me from this world. I was not suicidal, just in such emotional pain and turmoil, living where God does not exist and not knowing how to believe. Not able to trust that God is not a lie. I told my friend that searching for God was too painful and I couldn’t work at finding Him any longer. My friend said, “Give your pain to God.” That was the first time in my life that I trusted God. It was a tentative step, and one that was made out of a desperate need for God to exist. It is the first time I felt God’s Love.

This is a great idea for a thread- a nice change.
About 18 years ago I was in love with a person-but inside I sensed there was something desperately wrong with her. My brain tried to deny this fact but my spirit was distressed. I knew she was on some sort of spiritual downward spiral-in a very dark place. I had a hunch why but wasn’t sure-and she wouldn’t talk about it and in any case I could do nothing for her. It would take hours to tell this story but finally, in a feeling of sheer helplessness and anguish, a prayer erupted from deep inside me. It said, “Hell can have me if you’ll save Maria”. This petition to God had totally by-passed my brain and scared me. It was nothing I would’ve said on my own, it was a thought which didn’t originate in my head. The bible says that we don’t even know what to pray for and that the Spirit prays thru us and all I can say is that something like that happened. I had been a fallen away cradle Catholic who had sought God on my own in various ways-far from holy and still full of pride but an earnest seeker for much of my life. But even at that and with all of the bible reading I had done I was never as sure as I was at that particular moment of the reality of hell and the reality of salvation. Three hours later, confused by what had happened and still deeply concerned about this person, I was thinking about the subject of salvation when all at once I was surrounded, enthralled, enrapt -I don’t know how to describe it-by a Presence which could most aptly be described as the most incredibly vast, powerful, HUGE, and unconditional LOVE that I had never known. I couldn’t have produced this experience in a thousand years of trying- and if I could I‘d be there now. I was aware that I was in the presence of another being-a vastly SUPERIOR ONE-but one somehow familiar and “like me” at the same time. I was also given specific knowledge about a particular matter at this time. But LOVE was the overriding, overwhelming experience. I could not remain standing and sunk to the ground-literally hanging onto a pipe fence. This love was nothing I could’ve anticipated and infinitely beyond the most intense forms of human love- words can’t begin to describe it. Afterwards I walked on air-with a “peace which passes all understanding”, but three hours later, after work and as I entered my house, I felt a strange churning in my stomach and had the first of a series of four fully conscious experiences-two visions and two communications of knowledge. They all concerned Maria. The visions were to show me what had happened to her as a teenager- she had been molested. This story goes on but suffice it to say that what happened set the ball rolling for major changes in how her life was to go-ugly seeds which had been planted years before and had taken root were not given the opportunity to continue to ruin her life as they had. To this day there are still aspects of the experience which I don’t understand-other parts I do. Other then being a seeker of God, which some people see as weird, I’ve always been a very practical and ultra-ordinary person-and I’m still working on that “holiness” thing. You’d think, after an experience like that, I would’ve progressed spiritually further than I have but I started off pretty weak, I guess. I‘ve always felt like God utilized my love for this person to accomplish His ends-both for her but also for me-which was difficult but at the same time so incredibly awesome from my standpoint. Since that time I entered a Pentecostal church because I was attracted to the way they seemed unashamed of their faith and also by their openness to the Spirit but I never felt that what I saw there was genuine and thru a series of events, MUCH to my surprise, I ended up back at the Catholic Church. Sorry, I couldn’t seem to make this post shorter.

It was the day before my mothers death on the 27 Th of December, almost a month ago now.

She had received all her Sacraments but still in her heart I believe she still struggled with knowing God. Mom was in end stage cancer and had weighed a scant 65 pound of skin and bone, to weak even to sit up in bed on her own. But that day, she sat up with ease and reached her arms straight out and smiled the most beautiful smile I had even seen on her face. Her skin glowed and was pink and radiant. She said, “I see a man, can’t see his face, but he is wearing a robe and is surrounded by light”. Then she said, “I want to go home”. Mom put her hands together in prayer and I watched as her lips moved, then she would bless herself and again she would start to talk to the vision (I could not hear her speak nor did I see what she saw, though I did whisper in her ear that I wished I could see what you see).

All pain and fear melted from her as she continued to pray. She spent the rest of the day and well into the night being cradled by my 14 year son telling him the entire time how much she loved him.

I had been so frightened for the soul of my mom for many years and prayed that she return to Holy Mother Church and the Sacraments. I believe that Jesus gave not only her, but me and my son as well a great gift of knowing she was fine and that she had made her peace with God.

Jesus came to take mom home at 9:00a.m. that Thursday morning and her face still glowed and her smile was still just as beautiful.

I miss her more then I can express without crying, but in my heart I know that she home…,.Ok, I am crying anyway.

Tears In Heaven
By Eric Clapton

Beyond the door
There’s peace I’m sure.
And I know there’ll be no more…
Tears in heaven

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

Revelation 21:4
“…and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

whatisthetruth, if you remember, today we celebrate the Feast day of the Conversion of Saint Paul.

His conversion certainly helped us know Jesus more.
Recently, in the Spirituality forum, there are three members converting to Catholic - 2 from different Christian faith, 1 from Voodoo/Witchcraft.

There conversions and their love for Holy Sacraments are the way Jesus helps me in my own daily conversion.

Hi love4mary,

I am sorry for the loss of your mom.

I pray, that you and your family be lifted up with the peace, love and support which only can be found in our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you for sharing love4mary. What a beautiful testimony of how Jesus touched your mom as she was being called home.

When you said “I did whisper in her ear that I wished I could see what you see” it touched my heart. we can only imagine what is on the other side of eternity. With that I like to offer you the following music video. In the video just might be some of the images your mom might have seen.

Enjoy and be blessed by,

Peace and all-good!

“Shine Jesus Shine” is a good song and my apologetic group sing this song from time to time.

Let us safeguard our sacred Catholic faith from the heresies of Protestantism. The notions on Sola Scriptura, Salvation by Faith Alone, dis-regard on the Church Authrority and of the Sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ all are Protestant inventions.
