I did go to the Urgent Care immediately when I saw the rash so thankfully I have been on the antiviral med since 12/21. I also have pain meds but it’s still painful. I agree with the poster noting it might be a good plan to get a shingles vaccine if your family Dr. advises to. I have never had the vaccine because I am younger than the usual age to receive it

I am fortunate I did get treated early but even so it’s painful so I appreciate also you prayers for pain relief…

I had shingles in my 20s. I know they only recommend Zostavax, the vaccine, for people over fifty. I’ve not had the vaccine, either, and I hope I don’t get shingles again. I had them on the lowest branch of the right facial nerve. The blisters were in my ear canal and even under my tongue! Thankfully, I only suffered badly about two or three days because I got antivirals within hours of the blisters eruption.

To anyone taking antivirals, stay out of the sun or you will cook like you are being boiled in oil!

Many family members have had shingles, they suffered greatly. I am sorry that you have it and hope that you recover soon. Unfortunately the drug Zostavax is tainted as it comes from aborted fetus cells. It is a thorny question about the morality of using such drugs with opinions on both sides. I hope someday that there will be untainted alternatives.

Lord have Mercy and shorten the time for Mary.

I’m so sorry, Mary. My mother in law had shingles as well and she said it was horrible. I will pray that either God takes away some measure of your suffering or else gives you the strength to bear it. God bless.

Oh Lord, help me to feel your calming hand upon me
when I am in pain.
Let your ever-loving comfort enfold me,
And give me the heart to see
that in my suffering, I am becoming
closer to you…

My wife had singles for almost a month.

I never had chicken pox and was not infected, per our Dr,
As long as the liquid from eruptions is carefully covered,
Should be no issue, is not as easily contagious as other viral
Diceases, hope you are in an antiviral treatment already .

You will be in our prayers, hope you get the job as well.
 
I hope you get the job. It sounds like you are qualified and it would be a perfect position for you. After the blisters of the shingles have crusted over, you are no longer contagious. Hope the shingles clears up quickly. Keeping you in prayer for job and health. God bless.
