I am spending the next few days with family, and then shipping out to Afghanistan. I just thought I would say goodbye, as the workload probably will not give me much time for recreational browsing.

epan,
First let me say thank you for your service. I pray that God will keep you safe and that He will give your family and friends peace while you’re away.
Dear Lord, please keep epan safe during the tour of duty in Afghanistan. Send St. Michael to defend him in battle. Let his family and friends know peace while he is away, let them feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
God bless you and keep you epan. :blessyou:

Keep your head down, don’t volunteer for anything keep the Word in your heart and praise on your lips.

Never get into a foxhole with someone braver than you are
Triple check your equipment, it was made by the lowest bidder
Remember that the buddy system is essential for survival as it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at

Jokes aside I pray for your safe return I’ll buy you a beer when you get back

Thank you, Epan, for your service & your sacrifice!! You will be prayed for often!! 👍

May the Almighty protect you.

Thanks for helping to protect us.

Haha, thanks, and I’ll take you up on that offer

It’s a volunteer fighting force.
I rely on people who are braver than I am…
I guess you never heard about the $700 hammers…
If I am with a buddy who gets shot, then that makes more work for me…

Thanks everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. They are appreciated.

From the US Army’s Spirit of America:

It wasn’t always easy.
It wasn’t always fair.
Freedom called.

**We answered. **
We were there.

When I was an E-5 40 plus years ago and taking my first NCO Academy, they taught us that 90% of a supervisor’s time is spent in solving problems. O I said. Solving problems is what we are expected to do. Solving problems is our daily work.

Defending our Freedoms and trying to extend those precious Freedoms to Afghans is a most noble cause.

I am now too old to be with you, but I and many veterans and civilians are with you in spirit. God Bless. Stay safe.

God bless you Epan, and thank you for your service! We’ll save your place here. Stay low!🙂

Thanks, everyone. I’ll see you later. Think of the men and women who are on the front lines, trying to contain violent extremism (often Muslim, unfortunately). They are in the line of fire. I just put them back together, usually to send them out for anther fight.

Go with God and may He watch over you and bring you back safe. I am thankful for the service/ of all our troops.
