By John JalsevacGARRISON, NY, February 22, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In 2005 the world was horrified when it was revealed that in the Netherlands doctors were not only openly admitting that they had killed disabled newborn infants, but that the medical institution was actively promoting child…

This is sickening, but it was obvious this was coming a long time ago. In 1993, the pro-abortion people were denying that there would ever be a movement to legitimize killing the disabled. Then again, in the 1900’s no one really believed abortion would become unrestricted throughout the US. Now the pro-euthanasia crowd probably would deny that this will ever be used against adults or agaisnt people with only minor disabilities, but we’ll see what happens if we don’t fight hard now.
We need to fight like we mean to win. Study movements that have succeeded against the odds. Learn from what’s gone before.

While I am not shocked at all, as we all knew this was coming, I am saddened beyond belief at the slaughter of these poor lambs and the slaughter that is to come.

This type of backwards compassion boggles my mind. But what is horrible is that those of us who think that this is horrible will be called uncaring and not loving. While those who advocate the killing of newborns will be considered kind.

Below is a quote from the article

Concerning the larger question of whether the practice for which the protocol was developed can be morally justified, we think it can - in the Netherlands, at any rate. When a tragically impaired infant is born into a society that is hospitable to its children, offers universal access to decent health care, and promotes an ethos among its citizens whereby they look after each other as a matter of course, we believe that the doctor’s ending the baby’s life could be the best, most caring response."

This is horrifying on so many levels It’s hard to know where to begin.

Parts of this are the best argument against universal health care that I can imagine, if it leads to this.

And the notion that “potential future suffering” can be used as a criteria for killing a baby is like wiring my seatbelts to electrocute me in the event of a high-speed crash because “this is gonna hurt” (Somebody’s wallet)

An absolute perversion of “care”
