How theBishop’s CCHD supports abortion, gay rights ($280 million) and other groups opposed to Church teaching but nary one dollar goes to pro-life cause which was it’s intended purpose. This has been going on 40 years, Still NOTHING has been done about it. Even shows how CCHD helped get Obama elected. CCHD even now has Stations of the Cross meditations on it’s website that feature the groups it funds that contradict Church teaching!

RealCatholicTV.net/cia/

All Pro-life people, especially Catholics should be demanding some action on this issue. Contact your bishop immediately!

Yes, but that did not answer the claim. The point is, that $280 million dollars has gone towards groups that OPENLY oppose Church teaching (including abortion), yet NOT ONE DOLLAR went towards ANY pro-life organization, which is where it was intended to go.

Please watch the video.

I think we should expect that all CCHD money be diverted to supplying our crisis pregnancy centers with ultrasounds and they should be right across the street from every abortion mill. Also, the staff should be let go.

And I thought that I was the only one watching this on Real Catholic TV.
I plan to send that link to the Pastor of my church. I for one am not going to give in the second collections unless I know exactly where my money goes. If I don’t recognize the name for the second collection I will save my money and that is what I plan to tell my Pastor.

Good for you for posting the link.

Yes, but that did not answer the claim. The point is, that $280 million dollars has gone towards groups that OPENLY oppose Church teaching (including abortion), yet NOT ONE DOLLAR went towards ANY pro-life organization, which is where it was intended to go.
It says:
CCHD does “not ever grant funds to any group that is specifically involved in any activity contrary to church teaching” and furthermore, it has “zero tolerance” for groups that receive funds and then become involved in “any activity contrary to the church’s social or moral teaching.”
The subcommittee’s report said that if “any CCHD-funded group violates the conditions of a grant and acts in conflict with Catholic teaching, CCHD funding is immediately terminated.”
The subcommittee report cited three cases – out of 250 funded groups during the last year – in which funding was terminated and the groups were asked to repay any grant funds that were spent.
How does that not answer the claim??

CCHD is not simply an anti-abortion organization. The Church has many social concerns.
Bishop Morin said he believes much of the criticism of CCHD comes from people who “simply are not in favor of the church’s social teaching.”
Hmm.

Michael voris has no interest in lying. he is a true defender of the Faith. an average Catholic would not have a way of knowing such things that are going on if not for these guys. the bishops are defending these people for some ego motives.

just recently they invited questionable people to speak to many Catholics. did the bishops deny this too? it is all there for everyone to see.

How does that not answer the claim??
Disengenious at best.

Did you actually watch the video? I think not.

I find one of the most contemptable of all in this video is the CCHD hammering up the “Stations of the Cross”, alongside Pro-abortion, Pro-Gay, Pro-socialist, and “EARTH WORSHIPPERS”.

They want us to meditate on these agenices while meditating on the Passion of Christ. Oh brother, CCHD has gone rotten to the core.

All you have to do is go the CCHD website, look at the booklet for Stations of The cross, and then go the websites of the agencies that you are supposed to meditate on while meditating on the Stations of the Cross.

Frankly, I don’t see how can get any worse, than doing the works of satan.

In addition, the CCHD continues to donate money to the LCCR which has changed it’s name in the past few weeks, but still has the civilrights.org web address.

This stuff has been going on for forty years now. They are a lost cause.

Now they have degraded to the point of Blasphemy against our Lord Jesus Christ and the stations of the cross.

Give it a break guys! If you can’t trust our Bishops, your shepherds, who can you trust? In my opinion this so-called accusation against the Bishop’s fund smells of sour grapes. 🙂

Ya well, that is a problem I am having right now - trust.

All you have to do is take the list of these agencies and go their websites and peruse around, and guess what they are all those things we are pointing out above.

The CCHD is run by Lay People, I think around 300. So this doesn’t necessarily implicate the Bishops, as first cause.

But the point is, this has been taking place for nearly 40 years. When does it stop?

It took me about 5 minutes to verify some of these accusations, on just one website. Others perhaps 10 or 15 minutes longer.

With 300 people available I can’t understand why due diligence isn’t taking place. Especially when they tack this stuff up with the Stations of the Cross. This is exceptionally horrendous.

So this leaves only one choice left - AGENDA.

I watched the video, all 74 minutes, and it does seem truly upsetting. I agree there needs to be an explanation coming from the bishops themselves.

One thing that bothered me though in the video was the implication (by not stating otherwise) that all 280 mil dollars over 40 years has gone to support groups with anti-catholic agendas. If only 31 groups are the culprits, then that would seem to prove that much (most?) of the money has gone to groups that are not suspect. That seems like playing a little loose with the truth to me and automatically makes me suspect that other important facts may have been left out as well. Is RealTV giving us the whole picture or just the sensational parts of it? I don’t disbelieve Michael Voris’ facts, but I think there is a good deal of spin going on as well.

Also his conclusion that because poverty has increased in 40 years that means the program has been a failure is juvenile spin. It could have been much higher without the campaign. I want to hear more, but I’m not throwing all my support behind Michael Voris just yet.

The Bishops are clueless where the money is really going. They are often trusting lay members or deacons etc. (who are often liberals and converts from other faiths) to oversee these things. Some of us in our parish started complaining about this and a liberal deacon literally ran over to the bishop and had him draft a letter the day before the collections were made (since we sent out email warnings to a large network of Catholics) to call the claims exaggerations. He then read the letter from the podium to try to mock those of us who sent out the emails of concern saying we were not in line with the bishops sentiments.

I think some of the bishops are worried and feel like the cat caught with the canary feathers in its mouth. I think this is just the tip of the iceburg and we are going to see a large scale house cleaning in the US Catholic Church as more people learn about what had been going on.

Do you think the Vatican is going to clean house over a financial scandal more than it has done so over the priest abuse scandals, now international in scope? I’m truly just wondering.

We have no choice now. The media is hell bent on destroying Catholic credibility and is now going after the church all over the globe. They will do what they do best - sensationalize and make it look like a small percentage of cases (relative to 400,000 clergy) is the norm for the Church. They hit the USA, then Ireland and now Germany is in the crosshairs. These things are all wrong and should not have occurred and the priests involved all should have been sent to prison. But its time to purify the church and get rid of all homosexual priests (90% of the abuse cases) who should never have been ordained in the first place. It is time that the Vatican start asserting more holistic control over its bishops and have papal representatives spot checking all bishops. The Vatican should have a canon law hot-line where any laity can submit suspicions about wrong doings among the clergy of all kinds. We truly need a Vatican investigative department to start formal inquisitions and start reeling in the liberal bishops and clergy. Enough is enough. The liberalism that crept into the Catholic Church during the 1960’s is just not dieing off fast enough - we need to start retiring the liberals or defrocking them.

James

The cleaning house will come from the laity withholding their checks to any bishop’s initiatives. My check will go directly to crisis pregnancy centers and trusted Catholic programs.

In case you haven’t had a chance to read the report, Reform CCHD Now just released its investigation into the CCHD Stations of the Cross. It’s pretty vile!

That’s a mighty bold statement.

Do you have a reference to back up your statistic?
Are you associating same-sex attraction with pedophilia? Do you have references showing homosexual men are more likely than heterosexual men to engage in pedophilia?

Since when is a celibate priest with same sex attraction considered to be unworthy of the priesthood?

James,

I’m sorry but the priest abuse scandals are not mostly from homosexuals they are mostly from pedophiles. If they were mostly from homosexuals then it would have been adult males involved with the priests.

I think he was referring to the John Jay report where 81% of the convicted cases involved teen boys if I remember correctly, but we’re getting off topic. Please stay on course here folks.
