Our local governments are unintentionally driving this. By not arresting (and prosecuting) rioters, vandals, looters, they send the message that they are incompetent or unwilling to stop law breaking. There will always be someone to fill a void. I fear vigilantism will get worse.

I just heard commentary that some people are just fed up with the protesters. So, I guess, call this group vigilantes. Rioters should not have carte blanche to destroy things.
New Mexico, the North especially, has Spanish ancestry going back to the year 1550 or whenever, really a long time ago. Some people don’t appreciate a statue of a Conquistador being torn down.
I’ve kept hearing of a bunch of bikers going to Portland and Seattle. But so far, it’s been a bunch of talk, they should be there by now.
