Short Advent Weddings?

I can say that during Lent, the marriage is very short, and not festive in decorations. I was married during Lent, I wore a candlelight colored dress ( not white or off white, kinda of ivory) , and we did have communion, as my family would not allow it any other way, and we recieved a special dispensation for my husband to recieved as well, as he was not yet Catholic. ( that was an ordeal, but he was in RCIA at the time, and was baptized!).

So, I can say that weddings are allowed at Lent, but I left the colors for Lent up, I did not ‘decorate’ widley, colors were white and teal with red roses.

Celebration was small finger foods and cake, no dancing.

Just my opinion and two cents.

The Immaculate Conception is not a Holy Day of Obligation in Australia.

I think Cameron has answered my question, but I’m getting a little bit confused between the terms “Ritual mass” and “Nuptial mass”. Forgive me, but I know next to nothing about the liturgy (that’s something I need to remedy).

As for John’s last post, I believe the following will apply still:

Is this the answer to my question? The mass of the day will be used, with nuptial blessings. Does this just mean that the readings and other proper prayers will be the prayers for the mass of the solemnity, and the mass will exactly resemble the mass of that solemnity, except the nuptial blessings will be tacked on?
Your “location” does not indicate where you are from.

You are correct. In my answer I say “Wedding Mass” I mean a Mass with readings specific to the Sacrament of Marriage (Ritual Mass). The Mass of the day or “Feast day Mass” would be used with the Rite of Marriage inserted.
