I usually go to the Saturday night vigil Mass and there is no singing. The whole mass is probably around 40-45 minutes. On Sunday, maybe just 5 minutes longer.
They advertise that as the “last Mass in the City” – and so they used to end up getting people from around the area who needed a backup, as you say. This is interesting, too, a 7:30 p.m. Mass. The last one at our church is at noon.
I’d like to see something like that.
I’d really try not to get into the habit of not going on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning and putting it off until Sunday night. Still, it would be nice to have it as a backup in case of an emergency situation Sunday morning.
