If you want to tell me what I believe at least get it right. The infallible word of God is that which was handed down from the apostles whether by word or in writing. (And by infallible I mean the infallible authority that only the apostles possessed.)
The apostles were not infallible. So, it’s your belief that the HS left the church after the last apostle died? That’s a question ergo the question mark. I am not attempting to tell you what you believe.
Nobody in the early church was able to connect certain books to the apostles,
Agreed. The 4 gospels and hebrews were even anonymous.
but because of other criteria, they were accepted into the canon.
What was this criteria? By whose authority were they accepted? We know it was not by the authority of any one PC.
Do those books carry the same authority as the ones known to be apostolic? I don’t know and you don’t know so why proclaim them as “infallible”?
I never said that they were infallible. I said that they were accepted as inspired by many in the early years of Christianity, just as some NT books in our bible today, were not considered inspired in certain parts.
You are saying here that the book of Hebrews is traceable to the late first century
Where did I say that? The book of Hebrews was considered questionable until the CC bishops decided otherwise. You accept it because the CC embraced it as inspired. If the CC, in the 4th century would have jettisoned the book of Hebrews, you would too, therefore you are deferring to the error free decision of the CC.
, yet the western church did not accept it until the fourth century, and that thanks to Athanasius. It took Athanasius to convince Julius and other church leaders in the west, that Hebrews was indeed authentic, as the churches in the east had always held. None of this sounds infallible to me.
Yet you have no problem believing that the bible is infallible?

What church did those guys belong to by the way???
Why do you keep calling the early church the CC?
Well, the early church was not protestant that’s for sure. Ignatius, who was a disciple of John called the church catholic. I think we can trust him. There was no other church other than the CC when the CC codified your bible. If the CC was not the early church then the CC was a man-made church as opposed to the church founded by Jesus, which means they had no inspirational right to codify your bible. People have been telling me that the CC was founded by someone other than Jesus but these same people won’t back up their claim, by naming said founder. Name please???/
I can’t tell if you are being obstinate or just having difficulty with the subject.
You want me to entertain the notion that the CC did not determine the canon. You want me to believe that the early church was not the CC. Prove it then and I will be forced to leave the CC and join this supposed early church that was not the CC…
