The “garment” was a metaphor for baptism, not for articles of earthly clothing.you made me check the bible. it is from Mt 22:1-14. the parable of the wedding feast.

No one would wear a tuxedo, I hope, because that is evening wear for a social occasion.nievs:![]()
If the Mass is the earthly version of heavenly worship relayed through the word’s of John, do we appear before the throne of the Lamb in tuxedos or naked, or in the eyes of God, does it make a difference if our hearts are properly disposed?I agree with Gio. we are to attend a very solemn celebration and i think we should dress up appropriately.
Sometimes I wonder if what is offensive or viewed as “correct” by us is even a concern of God.
If it is a concern of God, we have far bigger issues to deal with which impact our salvation than what we wear to worship our Lord and Savior.
Quoting your first two sentences.Hi, so first of all, I know that wearing shorts to mass is not really appropriate. But, when I cycle to mass, can I wear shorts?

Meh, that’s not hot. Your body will adapt.(roughly 26°C)
I’m not sure what kind of logic you’re trying to use here. Would you also say that it’s ok to show up naked at Mass, because “God cannot be offended by the sight of the body he created”?God cannot be offended by the sight of your legs because He created them.
Do you go to Mass with just you (and God)? Aren’t there other people there?Modesty is for men too. But I think it depends on the culture of your area, if all guys show off their legs in summer then it’s alright. God cannot be offended by the sight of your legs because He created them.
Definitely ask your priest!
