I go to a Catholic college, and it has come to my attention that a course here may promote contraception. My friend is in Environmental Studies, and was assigned a project about population control. The class teaches that using contraception, “the world can be saved” from us using the resources. Should I notify the college about this, or would teaching this be allowed?

well, I guess maybe there should be some more information. Are they talking about ABC or are they talking about natural family planning? The latter would be okay. I don’t know if I would go complaining just yet. There may be something else going on here - such as the teacher provoking a debate about the subject of using ABC or not. Maybe get some more info on your friend before you decide to do anything and maybe even if you do decide to do something, talking to the teacher about what is going on would be the best first step.

It’s ABC, part of it was about distributing condoms to Africa. It kinda sparked an argument, since she thinks condoms are okay, and I was explaining why they are wrong.

It’s amazing that a student has to correct a teacher at a Catholic school! Good job don’t take any **** off her! And I would make a big stink to the higher ups. If they give you any trouble transfer to Franciscan University.
Also, it doesn’t matter whether they meant NFP or ABC it’s the attitude that “we must supress the population, get rid of the humans”.

I don;t go to a catholic college or anthing but as part of my Health and welness curriculum we are all required to take a personal health class. And the teacher is required to teach us ABOUT all form of birth control. But she teaches it in a very non biased way. She even includes NFP. For her it’s all about telling you the stuff for the test. Like "This is depo-provera…it does this. This is a diaphram, it does this… This will not protect you from STDS. Abstinence is the onlt 100% fool proof BC etc etc. she’s not encouraging the use of any of thes options. She’s just telling you what they are and how they are used. She also told us about infirtility and it’s causes and some of the technology people use to get pregnant. But most of us aren’t even concerned about our own fertility. She’s just telling us how such procedures are executed.

Back in highschool our teacher told us how abortions are performed. That being said, I think that it’s best that abortion procedure is taught because if it wasn’t many people would not feel put off by it. when I was little…like about 10 or 11. Ididn’t know much about abortion or birth control.i though abortions were good things because I was 10 and I didn’t like the thought of having a baby and I had younger brother I didn’t like. not until I was twelve and attended a Catholic school did I even learn about the whole pro-life movement. I hadn’t known about the inhumane procedures that were used. And I became staunchly prolife after that.

These are facts you should see.

The American system is one of abstience teaching.

the dutch starts age 5 and is practically weekly till 18 and absolutley nothing is left out.

Detail gets more graphic as kids get older… by 11 all possible means of getting pregnant or stds and very high levels of expertise in contraception are taught. Along with all aspects of human relationships from attraction and dating to foreplay, kissing, rape and peadophlia and I guess self defence from both. Technique what all terms mean, gay, lesbian culture, marriage, childbirth, pregnancy and looking after kids and as said all aspects of stds and how you can get pregnant frommany foreplay activities and ending all myths.

Innocence is simply seen as ignorance putting kids in danger.

Kids are broaght up to be completely open with regards sexaul matters with parents and teachers little different to discussing maths homework, no embarasment or awkardness at all

Its also common knowledge that the pull out method is next to useless due to pre ejaculate and date methods are deeply flawed.

Hamburglar-- NO a Catholic college should not teach a course in which contraception and population control are promoted or condoned.

I would report this course to the administration-- and if nothing is done I would consider going elsewhere (and alerting the Catholic press to it so they can spread the word through the media…!)

For the rrcord TRT…most Catholics don’t condone the eugenic practices of the Dutch so using that country as a comparison isn’t such a hot idea.
