Should a divorcee serve as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist?

I have a problem with a divorcee giving me communion as I see a divorce as a situation wher Jesus was broken becuse e the believer(s) was overwhelmed - regardless of the circumstances or whose fault.

Surely divorcees can serve in ohter ministries and let this one be for those where the sacramental livfe remains ‘intact’

Hi,

We are only broken when we sin. The Church allows civil divorce for the equitable division of goods once held in common. It, of course, does not consider that the state the ability to dissolve a valid marriage. Separation does not change the marriage from being intact.

So long as a divorced person has not attempted to remarry, the Church considers such a person a Catholic in good standing. There is nothing wrong with such a person serving as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist.
