I experienced an unusual and frankly infuriating incident when I went up to receive the Eucharist this morning at a Catholic hospital chapel. I was presenting my hands in order to receive the host, but the priest instructed me to “take one.” I did so as instructed but felt violated. This appears to be an abuse. The priest had some sniffles, but he felt all right about offering the precious blood via the chalice. Ironically, a priest at my parish talked about how we receive, not take the Eucharist, just yesterday. What should I do if this happens again?
