Should angel's appearance go in vain?

Jesus did not and could not die a cursed death on Cross, in my opinion.

**Second Coming **1835-1908 explains from Bible:

In addition to all this, there was another heavenly cause, namely, that when Pilate presided at his court, his wife sent word to him not to have anything to do with that righteous person (i.e., not to attempt to punish him with death), for, she said, she had had a dream that night, which had troubled her very much.

So, this angel, whom the wife of Pilate saw in her dream, would assure us and all fair-minded people, with certainty, that God had never intended that Jesus should die on the Cross. From the day of the creation of this world, never has it occurred that God should suggest to a person in a dream that a particular thing would happen in a certain way, and still that thing should fail to happen.

For example, the gospel of Matthew says that an angel of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Arise and take the young child and the mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him’. Now, can anyone say that Jesus could be killed in Egypt?

Similarly the dream which the wife of Pilate dreamt was a part of God’s design, and it could never be that this design should fail in its object; and just as the possibility of Jesus being put to death during the Egyptian journey was against a specific promise of God, so here it is unthinkable that the angel of Almighty God should appear to the wife of Pilate and should direct her to say that if Jesus died on the Cross it would not be a happy thing for her, and yet the angel’s appearance should go in vain, and Jesus should be allowed to suffer death on the Cross.

What Biblical passage did you get your ‘guess’, or opinion from?

Too many saw His death on the Cross and have written about it. So, please show us what Biblical passage you are getting your thoughts from.

As for that dream, it only tells me that she recognized Jesus’ innocence and warned her husband not to have anything to do with Him. And he didn’t, except for having him scourged. Jesus was handed over to the Jews for the rest.

And out of that there is no indication that He was not crucified. I have no idea why you come up with that idea, so tell us what passages you read.

The Gospel tells us that Jesus suffered, died, was buried, resurrected from the dead, and ascended into heaven.

I love Jesus, and therefore I will defend Jesus against the faulty concepts of Islam.

I read the above post three times but could not find the word angel there. How did you come to the conclusion that an angel appeared to the wife of Pilate?.

Thank you for quoting Scripture, but you didn’t answer the question you pretended to answer. Your problem is not the English language; your problem is that you hear what you want to hear, and don’t hear what you don’t want to hear. St. Paul didn’t make up the idea that the Messiah is God; as you just saw in another thread you started, Isaiah prophesied that 700 years earlier. But you close your eyes, and keep repeating the same lie. And the Bible says nothing about an angel appearing to the wife of Pilate, therefore your premise for this thread is false. But no doubt you’ll keep repeating this lie too - that’s the paarsurrey way.

I think that the source of bad dreams is devil and the source of good dreams are angels; perhaps you agree on this.

Dreams are dreams…we don’t speak of sources of dreams in this thread. For even too much hunger could cause dreams of nice food.

I am afraid it is not just Paul but the entire New Testament, and all the Apostles and people who knew and were chosen by Jesus that testify to the Cross.

Therefor, the untrustworthy testimony would be any source that denies the Cross and Resurrection. 🙂

Through the Cross we are made free from our sins and the gates of Heaven are opened! The cross demonstrates to us how we must sacrifice ourselves utterly for God! Not only our lives – but all our affections and attractions, must be put under His dominion, given up, so He can give us what He chooses!

And He will choose what is best. We can be assured. 🙂 For the Lord God is Love itself, charity and truth. And what greater love can be demonstrated than He has in Christ? None. . None… No greater love than the infinite love of God in the Holy Trinity! Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. . Amen.

Of course not.

I used to live above a bakery shop. They always started baking early in the morning while I was still asleep. Of course I would always dream about eating bread or cakes. Neither a devil nor an angel made me dream those dreams, just my natural environment.
 
You have been posting a lot of threads, please do not waste our time with items that are “your opinion” and other things without good evidence. We would be willing to discuss anything as long as you have a legitimate subject.
