Should apostates of Islam be killed??

So far the murderers are still winning. They get upset at those who shy away from it. Sort of “how dare you mean westerners who say we can’t kill apostates.” Simply amazing. And yet so little protest from muslims.

It is what it is, a poll from a Moslem web-site where a majority say that apostates should be killed

That’s it exactly. Islam means submission. Once Islam is dominant, then there will be ‘peace’.
 
You know, I’ve always been a big supporter of Islam to my friends and family - just as much as I’ve been a supporter of Christianity, Judaism, etc…

This forum post scares me, but it’s not because they’re talking about executions. It’s that they can’t think for themselves. They’re so *locked *into their ultra-religious mindsets that they can’t see outside that little box they’ve made for themselves. It’s like reason, logic, and empathy is out the window. I see that sometimes here on this forum too - and in a few others that I lurk in - but it’s not nearly as bad as this.

They are doing a good job of representing islam, since this is what they truly believe!

On a different note, i was a little bit surprised at how open they were too it and not actually sugar coating what they actually do believe.

I know, they’re more open about their beliefs when they’re talking amongst those of their own faith. It seems, though, they don’t bother to put up that false front of “peacefulness” unless they are proselytizing directly to someone at the moment. This is why it’s a valuable learning opportunity to see stuff like this.

And yet it seems that with some people I can do no right either way… if I make claims on what Islam teaches or how most Muslims think and speak amongst themselves then I am labeled a bigot. If I actually provide evidence, then how daaare I poke my nose in someone else’s business. :rolleyes:

Don’t anyone forget that in Islam you’re permitted to tell lies in order to spread Islam.

The ultimate goal of Islam is the spread of Islam. How you do it, doesn’t really matter. They’d prefer everyone to just submit, but if you’re not going to, they’ve got a solution for that.

All the Muslims I have ever spoken to have with one exception agreed with killing of apostates - and the one agreed with ostracising the apostate (and yes they all claimed to be “moderate”)

So? One could read the Old Testament, see that it gives death as the penalty for Homosexuality, and execute all gay people. Just because your scripture tells you something, doesn’t mean you have to interpret it literally.
 
Do Jews and Christians TODAY argue for killing apostates? No. Let’s see if muslims can catch up.

You know, reformations aren’t exactly peaceful. I wonder how Islam will deal with it? More dead apostates before they’re finally “reformed?”
 
Here is a suggestion. Let’s report that muslim bb to the FBI. Some of the muslims on it live in Western countries. People as radical as this might be “persons of interest.” They should be questioned and perhaps given the opportunity to go back to an islamic country, one way.

Perhaps no worse than the Christian one.

Careful of hipocrisy, friend. The answers of the general Christian population four or five hundreds years ago would probably be very similiar.

The Muslims that I’ve actually *talked *to in my city are all very understanding, kind people and would tell me that what these people represent isn’t Islam but a warped version of it.

:confused: I don’t understand why you warn me to be “careful of hipocrisy.” You seem to have not understood my post or maybe I am not understanding yours. I was referencing the Christian Reformation when I was speaking of the potential violence. History can, and probably will, repeat itself.

Sorry, my bad. You’re right.

Reformations are bloody businesses, but they don’t have to be. Maybe Islam will look at the Christian reformation and learn something.
