Should it or shouldn’t it? How about is it sinful?

It is sinful to ingest anything that “makes you high”.
The average adult can drink alcohol in moderation, enjoying its flavor, without getting tipsy or intoxicated. There is no way one can smoke Marijuana without getting a “buzz” or becoming intoxicated. That is the whole purpose of smoking it…and intoxication in any way, shape, or form is a sin.

I would like medical marijuana. I have an autoimmune disease and take chemotherapy, anti-malaria drugs, steroids and have even take biologics. I’ve had sickness, weight gain and even a severe allergic reaction to these drugs. If my state would legalize medical marijuana, I’d use it in a heartbeat. it is shown to benefit my particular disease and it can’t be harder on my body than all these pharmaceuticals.

Smoking pot makes you stupid.

I will throw a different spin on this thread. Pot in and of itself is not sinful. God actually created it. To ask why would be the same to question his infinite wisdom.
Smoking pot in my opinion is sinful. You are attempting to alter or change your perception of reality and in the teachings of Christ were not people possessed by demons, “Not of there right mind?”
So pot is not sinful in my opinion but using it to smoke in my opinion only leads to more and more harsh more addictive/harmful drug use.
Yes, former user. And in all my dealings with drugs the only happy ending was one that ended in sobriety. 25 years clean now. All those who said “I can control it” I can stop when I want" etc etc. There perception of reality never saved there life.

“Smoking Pot makes you stuipd”.

MJ does not make you stupid. This remark only serves to illuminate this writers lack of understanding of the benefits of this drug.

MJ is a gateway drug. Absolutely true and I am a testament to that statement. I have used (and abused) many different drugs in my 50+ years, a fact from which I derive no pride. For me alcohol is a much more insidious drug. MJ helps me sleep by quieting my mind. In turn this helps me avoid insomnia and the subsequent migraines. I would like to see MJ decriminalized and cultivation made legal for personal use. A suggested limit would be 1 - 5 pounds per year per adult holding a Drs prescription. I would apply the same criminal penalties as local DUI/DWI laws that now apply to alcohol.

Med MJ would certainly help you. I’d suggest using it as a food additive, not smoking. Smoking exposes the body to carcinogenic compounds found in any burning vegetable matter. Vaporization is another alternative.

MJ butter or MJ oil is useful in counteracting the common side effects associated with chemo.

I believe your claim is false. Alcohol is just as dangerous and MJ, perhaps MORE dangerous when it comes to people subject to violent behavior.

So why isn’t non-alcoholic beer or wine the best-seller?
Because it tastes terrible and people like a little buzz at the end of a long work day. I spent many years as a Jack Daniels drinker and gave it up because it caused problems in my life and my marriage. Vaporizing a few grams of MJ prior to bed helps me sleep and avoid terrible migraines. I have tried six different migraine medications and disliked most of them due in part to the side-effects. Mj works for me , besides who am I hurting?

A sin? Prove it !

Have you tried going on a juice fast made up of raw organic fruits and veggies? If you can I would recommend watching the documentary “Fat, Sick, and nearly Dead.”

Speaking from my own personal experience of 56 years (I smoked pot for about a year a few years back), I have to say that smoking pot does indeed make you stupid and very forgetful while you’re on it. I’m also inclined to believe that pot has long-term negative effects (I have no evidence other than my own personal experience).

Hmm, I had no idea about the taste of non-alcoholic beer. But the buzz was really my point. People don’t drink alcohol simply for the taste. They want the buzz, otherwise non-intoxicating replacements would have been developed by now.

Exactly my point.

(sorry for the sarcasm. its a sport in ny.) 😉

good information. I didn’t even know there WAS butter or oil! It has been proven in studies to help those with my condition and I would not be using it to alter my mind, only to help my disease.

I actually have done this. I have a juicer and have gone on a juice fast and eat a raw foods diet. It did help a little but it also messed up my blood sugar really badly. I’ve been toying with the idea of juicing for a month or two again and see if I can get over this bad period I’m in. Thank you for the documentary link!

No problem. If you do start again try this recipe.

1 Bunch of Kale
1 Cucumber
4 Pieces of Celery
2 Granny smith Apples
1 Thumb size of ginger root
1//2 Lemon
1/2 Lime

I’m sure Christ used wine because he wanted to get tanked during the Last Supper.

I personally love the taste of a good bourbon.

lol, no… nobody said anything about being tanked. The strongest word used, I believe was “tipsy”. Anyways, Jesus used wine because it was tradition, and it was tradition because drinking pure water was a really, really bad idea.

Of course the tradition stands for the Eucharist, but my other point still remains. If enough people enjoyed bourbon and wanted to avoid the intoxicating effects, there would be a non-alcoholic substitute.

It’s not the buzz that keeps people from drinking non-alcoholic beer, or, not always the buzz. Somehow, they taste too watery and the finish is much too short. The taste dies off too quickly in your mouth, so they don’t “feel” like a beer with alcohol.

Marijuana warps your brain. “Medical” marijuana is just an excuse to get high. Funny how the “patients” who go to obtain it look just like pot-heads.
