Should Catholics attend a Mosque?

An invitation from my parish was in the church bulletin inviting all parishioners to attend mosque for Ramadan. My first question is why would the Catholic churches be encouraging it’s members to go to Mosque? My second question is should Catholics be going to Mosque? And third question is how much do our priests know about the Koran and the teachings and practices of Islam? My third question is the most important. Thank you for answering.
