** If indeed the local butcher obtains their meat from a local farm. Some meat could be transported from other areas. Particularly ground beef and sausages.**So is the local butcher.
Very cool! This year I’m growing just growing onions, little ones more like scallions actually, because they are very expensive around here and the smell keeps the neighborhood skunk away. However, I actually buy very few vegetables because my step-father has devoted over half an acre to growing vegetables so I get most of my vegetables from him.
**Understood.**otherwise…:nunchuk:I was just making sure that the statement wasn’t misunderstood or overlooked a second time. People, me included, have a tendency to overlook portions of what was posted and without emphasis on the internet sometimes the important part of the post is what gets ignored.
I have seen people keep dogs chained up in their front yard right here in my own neighborhood. Hasn’t it been proven that this can make a dog mean?I’ve been on dozens of family farms and have never seen dogs treated as such. The closest I saw to this was the male breaders being kept in a cage on a farm where they also bread dogs. But that was just so they could control the coupling and ensure that none of the females got impregnated by the wrong breed.
Yes, I’ve seen people keep dogs chained up. I’m saying that I never witnessed a family farm where the dogs were chained 24/7 without shade or shelter. This is what I was saying about missing parts of a post. The post I was responding to contained much more information that simply tying the dog out. We had some dogs that we kept tied the majority of the time. Some dogs can’t be trusted loose. However they always had a house, a shade tree, and ready access to food and fresh water.I have seen people keep dogs chained up in their front yard right here in my own neighborhood. However, this brings up an interesting point. If a person is willing to tie their dog, their pet, to a house in the yard all the time what makes you think they would care about how food animals they have never seen are treated?
They can run livestock, too & do much damage.Good point! And as you pointed out in part of the section i deleted. Some dogs can’t be trusted,…at least to stay within their boundaries. They just like to roam and explore. In these case, I believe it is a sign of responsible owner/stewardship, and in the best interests for the safety of the animal to keep them some what constrained. Particularly in urban areas. Not to forget that the dog could go to the pound and fees and fines imposed on the legal guardian, also.

Uh, I could recite the “country rules” concerning dogs, which I expect you know, but maybe I had better not. They can run livestock, too & do much damage.
You haven’t responded to one primary question that I have asked. You attempted to respond to a couple of side issues thinking falsely that you have a strong position. Only to back away after your are confronted with arguments that may sense. You have tried to vilify me in order to discredit the balance that I bring to your propaganda.I responded with sincerity to your inquiries as to why vegans are vocal, and why they just do not go off to a quiet place and keep it to themselves. You responded **not **with Oh, so that’s why, that’s what moves you…, but attacked everything that I said attempting to bring light to the questions that you posed. You even belittled the information that many people come to veganism to aid their health and disease. And then you post this??? What is your **motivation **for coming to this thread? The topic is the video ***Eating Mercifully ***that is put out by HSUS. What is objectional about people choosing to eat mercifully? Is the objection that this is something that you are personally not capable of, or personally can not consider, and it bothers you that others do consider it? Why do you come to this thread, and belittle cancer survivors and people who choose to live simply and gently, when this does not pertain to you? If hunting and killing is your thing, then why do you harrass people who prefer to live without spilling blood?
I’m sorry dude, but you make no sense. Or maybe you do, but you need to refresh our memories. What is your primary question? Post vilification also to refresh. Post belittling, also to refresh. Meat in moderation? Well, did you see the video we are discussing. It’s about a Christian perspective on factory farming. You haven’t responded to one primary question that I have asked. You attempted to respond to a couple of side issues thinking falsely that you have a strong position. Only to back away after your are confronted with arguments that may sense. Why do you persist in belittling me and harassing honest faithful Christians that believe that eating a balanced diet that could include meat in moderation as wrong? We have yet to see anything other than you opinions to back that point.
Could your opinions be wrong?
Belittling cancer survivors… Try a tact that shows that you are above the age of reason.
Maybe not on this thread.Uh, I could recite the “country rules” concerning dogs, which I expect you know, but maybe I had better not.
What folks don’t know won’t hurt 'em.Maybe not on this thread.![]()
** …said the guy in the lake of fire.**What folks don’t know won’t hurt 'em.
Given the lack of mercy and compassion a lot of people seem to have towards God’s creation, that is that is the most appropriate statement from the rivals of animal concern I have heard yet!I probably shouldn’t explain the intricacies of my manure pile here.![]()

Perhaps I missed something, but I have not seen a lack of compassion toward God’s creation expressed on here. Some have joked about their meat-eating, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t compassionate toward creation or poor stewards either.

Ah! Good! You struck no cord of mine. I was only unsure whether perhaps one comment might have inadvertently struck that of others. Cela ne fait rien.Hi Ridgerunner!
I was just making a joke, too. If it struck a chord, it wasn’t intentional. Much worse has been jokingly conveyed towards the Vegetarians and Vegans.
