Should Catholics not address Eastern Orthodox Priests as father? Eastern Orthodox would you call a Catholic Priest father?

Why wouldn’t we? They’re validly ordained priests. I had a professor, that is an Eastern Orthodox priest, and even the Evangelical Protestants that have a hang up on calling priests father, still called him father. A lot of people just have great respect for him. As far as I know, calling an Orthodox priest father is fine for a Catholic

We absolutely should call them Father.

Some orthodox fundamentalists may refuse to address a Catholic priest by that title, however.

We should, it’s respectful. They are also actually ordained.

Is there any teachings on this?
“Teaching” on this, no. This is not the sort of thing addressed in Church teaching.

It is, however, something addressed in practice and in precedent.

Popes and bishops always address Eastern Orthodox clergy by their proper titles and honorifics.

Pope Benedict addresses the Patriarch of Constantinople as “Your Holiness”

If you search through the other volumes of AAS (the official Acts of the Holy See) you’ll find hundreds of such examples. That one just happened to come up at random.

All right, that explains it a little bit better. Always happy to help.
