Should gays be allowed to vote?

Please tell me you’re kidding???

I really don’t know how to respond to what you have written…

I really hope you take the time out to reflect on how your publicly expressed opinions scandalise the Catholics who wish to adhere to Church teaching and faithful Catholics with SSA.

Just to note publicly, RPP’s opinions are representative of him/her alone and not the orthodox Catholics on this board.
 
Personally i dont have a problem with Homosexuals who vote. it democrats who vote who cause all the problems;)

There is no prohibition against talking about political parties. We are not allowed to talk about candidates.
 
Same sex attraction should not hinder one’s ability to vote but if convicted of sodomy which I believe should be a felony you would not be able to vote as a felond.

I’m not saying it’s absolute. I’m saying you can’t just go around choosing who can and cannot vote just because you don’t think they’ll make a good decision, because this is implicitly everyone who disagrees with you. Before 18, you aren’t a full citizen, and felons have forfeited their rights. This is different from “Oh, we just don’t think you’re smart enough.”
 
I, being gay, am totally free from bias here… so… 😉

I’ll just say that I think letting people like us vote is the stupidest move since letting women do the same! Oh, yes, and those negroes…

Our society would do well to herd up all homosexual persons in a large electric fence, strip them of their basic rights, and force them into painful conversion therapy until they finally can mold into the rest of “normal” society. Letting them vote would only serve to validate them as persons, something this great nation, founded on our Deist and Puritan fathers’ ideals, can’t afford. Equal rights and protection under the law… Makes my hair stand on end.

What nonsensical questions we ask.

What I’ve always been curious to know is how these laws were actually enforced, like, how did the authorities “catch” couples in the act?

They caught them in the act in Texas a few years ago. I think they just waited for the right time had a warrent and went in. That case however went to the Supream Court and US decided to embrace sodomy. It is becoming part of our culture, sodomy between man and man or man and woman.

The two men were part of a set up to challenge the law. They had an associate tip the police off that a crime wqas being commited. IIRC the police did not enter their apt looking for homosexual men but had been told another crime was in prgreess.

Personally I always thought laws against sodomy were wrong. However the Courts ruling sets a precedent for any law regulating sexual behavior bieng illegal. I have yet to see any argument used to justify sodomy that is not as equally valid for legalizing incest between family members of the same sex.

The man who reported the couple (a neighbor who said there was a “domestic disturbance” next door, citing “a man going crazy with a knife”) was, as far as I remember, a man who had bad blood with Lawrence and Garner (the men from the case) and had harassed before the incident. The guy who made the call served 15 days in jail for a false report.

Could be-the point is the police did not break into their apt lookig for men engaged in sodomy.

New Rule: don’t annoy the neighbors or they’ll send the cops to spy on you!

What goes on in the bedroom should be between the consenting adults present and their God. The government has no business in there.

But the so called homosexual “rights” crowd took it out of the bedroom and demanded that sodomy be consdered the same as race and gender. Thus the deabte we are having.
 
That particular case was largely about whether or not the state of Texas could allow sodomy between opposite-sex couples (which it did) and not allow sodomy between same-sex couples. If a man and a woman can have anal sex, why can’t a man and a man do the same?
