My daughter became Greek orthodox at easter. She did this so she could marry her fiance. he had been married before. At the time he wasn’t baptised but married in an Anglican church. He applied for an annulment, became a Catholic and after 28 months of waiting the answer was no. It has gone to appeal but neither want to wait. They have lived chastely.
He also became Greek orthodox
I told them I was sad about how it had turned out. She said they were not sad at all and felt close to God. I am going to the wedding as I feel it is important that she maintains her beliefs and that comunication is open and also so as not to divide the rest of our family.
Two priests have told me that she will be committing adultery and apostasy and may even be excommunicated. Now I am afraid.
I prayed for a quick result to the annulment decision. After 18 months I prayed for a yes. then I prayed for the Lord to take her home before she became Greek orthodox if her soul was in danger. It seems on the face of it that none of my prayers are answered. What do I pray now?
