Should I be humble an friendly to everyone?

Some of you know that I am being falsely accused of bullying. Should I still be super friendly and humble to those that are accusing me of something I haven’t done?

I am not being horrible but feel when I go to work tomorrow that I should just say nothing to them but is this wrong?

Again people may disagree with me. You do not owe anyone anything. Pray for them. If they say hi, say hi back then move along. I would not bother engaging with them before they further destroy your character. Who said you have to be friends with everyone? Use wisdom. Sure you should be humble, but do not allow people walk all over you or try destroy your life. You have only one life.
 
I would be polite and kind to everyone. I also would go into your meeting with an open mind and truthfully determine if there have been some things that you have done which has accidentally hurt others. If you can find something, then apologize.

If this is a honest set up, then keep being cordial and loving towards them. Even though this situation is tough, remember what Jesus’ peers did to him for our sake. Even through it all he asked the Father to forgive them for they know not what they do.
 
As hard as it may be, I would suggest being polite to everyone. I’m sure it has to be hard when people are accusing you of something.

Jesus was polite to those who mocked him, etc., so I think that I would try (that’s the key word 😉 ) do the same.

Yes, certainly! 🙂 Pray for the ability to do this, and pray for those who persecute you (as the Lord has proclaimed). Christ is merciful, and you will be able to do this in Him.

Remember the quote by Saint Augustine of Hippo:

It was pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels.
 
Jesus was silent when accused.
Be a peaceful person.
Those who are guilty crow the loudest.

Prudence is the mother of all virtues.

While being friendly and humble is generally a desirable behaviour, there are also some situations in which it can lead to misperceptions and misinterpretations. (Or as the phrase goes, “different strokes for different folks”.)

While you should not be uncharitable to such folks, there is no need to overcorrect and be “super-friendly” to them. 🙂
 
Humility works each and every time it is exercised. If others accuse you, so what? If others take advantage of you, so what? Any sin is on them, not you. Read a bit of Saint Francis - I needed it badly, as does the entire world.

Saint Francis, pray for us!
 
My mother would always tell me “Less talk. less mistake.”

I have social anxiety disorder so to compensate I tend to be arrogant (somewhat unintentionally :o)). the “be wise as a serpent, innocent as dove” advice by Dorothy is spot on. Someone also told me that. When I try to be nice, sometimes some people tend to think I have a hidden agenda or something. Can’t really blame them. You have nothing to fear if you always have good intentions 🙂 Just be friendly in a chill way. Peace!
 
Just go to work and try to be your normal, natural self. Many people have a wrong concept as to what humility is. It is knowing and accepting who you are. that doesn’t mean you need to lower your eyes or be a doormat. Be your honest self. Peace and prayers.

My advice is to put ALL your trust in God; remember all things work to the good of those who love God. Do not sin no matter what. No matter how tempted you are do not go down that road. No matter what lies are told about you. Stick to the truth. If you remain faithful to God and His commandments during this time of trial He will surely do the rest. Be civil, be polite. That’s all. God knows your trial. He is with you. Lean on Him.

Be sure to wear a Miraculous medal and a St Benedicts medal especially at this time. They are a powerful sign of faith and offer protection against evil through Our Lady and St Benedicts intercession.
