Should I choose the local parish or parish further away?

What is the view of going to a Catholic Church that is NOT the closest one to your home? Over the summer my family and I have been attending a parish about 15 miles from Home (vrs. the one 5 miles from my house)…Sunday during mass the priest was speaking of the faith community and it got me to thinking about if it is right to go to a church that is not in youre own community. Thank you for your advise and opnions.

The new code of canon law does not require that one register in the parish nearest to one’s residence. More and more people are going where they are fed. If this parish supports you in your faith more than the closer parish, then feel free to make this your parish.
