Should I convert to the Roman Catholic Church or the Eastern Orthodox Church?

I know the catholic canon has the same canon formalized, but what’s inside it. The masoretic text and the catholic bible says that Adam was 130 when he conceived Seth. The Septuagint and the orthodox bible says that Adam was 230 when he conceived Seth.
It’s my understanding that the Church teaches all that God wished to reveal can be found in Sacred Scripture. Everything you need to know for your salvation is contained in the books of the Bible.

I’d be curious to know what, if anything is revealed in the Orthodox canon that is not in the Catholic canon. & vice versa. I doubt there is anything in one that is not in the other.

I seriously doubt 100 years difference in Adam’s age will affect your salvation.

The true Church is not the Church with the correct canon. The true Church is the one founded on the Rock.

It’s just weird, it’s one of the only things holding me back to become catholic or orthodox. I just want to know because of biblical accuracy between churches. I want to see which one is more accurate so I can just go to that church. I also heard that the Arian heresy was more prominent in the east so many orthodox Christians brought Arian beliefs but I’m not sure.

I wish I could help. Father Corapi was a large factor in my conversion from Sola Scriptura to the Catholic Church. My faith was then cemented in St. Peter the rock.

Did you know that not only did Peter alone receive direct revelation from the Father in Matthew 16:17 concerning the sonship of Christ; he also received direct revelation from God concerning that gentiles were allowed into the new covenant. This was quite a scandal to Jewish Christians at the time. Read the book of Acts carefully. When all the elders of the Church were gathered and debating at the Council of Jerusalem it was St. Peter who silenced the debate before St. James affirmed what Peter had said.

Anyways I think the hierarchy of the elders is rather clear in Scripture. Not to mention that after the initial Schism between east and west occurred the first time, there was a brief uniting of east and west. This gives me doubts as to the sincerity of their beliefs concerning the papacy.

Good luck.

So I used the Bible, history and ancient text to research Christianity. I’m more leaned into Catholicism, the only problem is the genealogy. If the Catholic Church or any other church is true church. The genealogy has to be true, right? That’s the only thing bothering me. I was hate it that Protestants make up Catholic lies and keep explaining it to people but they don’t care. I’m starting to think it is true church, but people keep using whore of Babylon. Which is pagan Rome, but I still have doubts on whore of Babylon but I’ll research that part myself. But I can’t find anything of true genealogy. There’s different sides. Please help me know which biblical text has true genealogies. Masoretic, septuagint or any other texts like the Samaritan pentuech, or writings from flavius Josphesus. Anything.
