Should I delay my vocation to attend college?

I have been in the process of discernment for a number of years and feel that I’m called to religious life. Grace in my life has been very strong in recent months. I’m confident of my decision; however, I am young and am bound to change a lot of the next few years as I gain more life experiences. Is it bad to make the Lord “wait” if he is calling me now? I’m concerned if I don’t act on my vocation now it will be lost.

There is no one answer to your question that will apply to everone. Each person’s situation is an unique as the person. I suggest that you discuss this with the vocation director of the community you are interested in joining. He or she can get a better understanding of your situation by speaking with you in person than we can here. You are in our prayers.
