Throughout the last few years I have joined a large number of websites which contain evil content. I joined several dating websites which are sinful in such ways as containing pornographic content and promoting sinful sexual behaviour. I also joined a few websites that contain superstititious content. I am not paying for any of these memberships, and I never go on these sites any more. However, my memberships will not get deleted unless i delete them myself. I am not sure if I am morally obliged to delete my profiles/memberships where possible from these websites?
Thanks for any help.

Unless it is a source of temptation to return to these sites, I think it should be fine just to stay away from them.

The content of the websites may be troubling to your soul. So confess & pray, but please don’t let this be actively spiritually troubling. We are human, Christ knows this. Our Father let us know that through God on earth in Christ. Bless you for being concerned, but go on. Minimize the web contents you are concerned about but don’t let these things take you away from the mercies of true redemption. I will pray that God knows your heart.

What I’m worried about is that it may be wrong to keep my profiles/memberships on the websites because the existance of my profiles/memberships on there is giving support to the websites, patronizing them. Hope this makes sense.

You may find you can’t ever really get rid of your information. I can’t get match.com to leave me alone still, despite several attempts to not just cancel, but unsubscribe from their lists. They really don’t care. They’re just hoping my engagement ends and that I go back to them. I never will though 😛

Pardon me, I may be a little slow this morning. Need coffee. But why would you continue to maintain web profiles in sites that you are uncomfortable? If the profiles can not be deleted, I am afraid that you have to “cross your fingers” & hope that nothing untoward happens as a result of the profile.

But thank you. This really is a good lesson to us all about sharing private information. Our attitudes change over time & web material that we find edifying at age 20 is a lot different that what we find edifying at say, age 47. Similar to a 60 year old person with multiple tattoos or something like that.

I think it’s best to just leave them be. I presume that deleting them would require you to return to the sites, whereas ignoring them doesn’t require you to have anything further to do with them. If they’re still sending you emails, I you could just block those as necessary.

If you can delete your information, do so. Have no association whatsoever with bad websites.

i would say to do it, i deleted my accounts from a few questionable places i use to go to, and i just felt relief after doing so…i dunno if it would make you feel better to delete them, but it made me feel better.
