Should I go to confession even for venial sins?

I haven’t been to confession in awhile. It has been bothering me quite a bit. I decided to start this Saturday, and make an effort to go once a month. My question is: When I don’t do anything wrong, should I still go? Anyway, I will start Saturday. I have not committed any mortal sins only 2 venial sins I can think of at this point.

Since I have not been in a long time, I am going to feel real bad sitting across from Father Carl.

Thank you for your advise in at advance.

Even though we are not aware of any mortal sins, and only aware of venial sins, it is still a good practice frequent confession for the venial sins.

I would encourage you to read paragraphs 1468-1470 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. There you will find the effects of the sacrament that give reason for frequenting the sacrament.
