Should I go to Confession?

I suddenly noticed about half an hour ago that I had done something objectively mortally sinful. I’m not sure what it was subjectively - my mind’s been a mess for weeks - but I’m so fed up with my smaller, habitual sins that I decided to go to Confession whether I’m alive or not.

The soonest Confession time is about 7:30 at a church half an hour from my house (I know because I used to be colossally overscrupulous). I don’t have a driver’s liscence yet, so I would have to wake up my parents. Is it worth it to wake them up and ask one of them to take me to Confession, when they both have trips just as far later in the day, and we probably won’t be able to afford the gas, and I’m not sure if I really technically need it anyway? I’ve feel dead, but that doesn’t mean I am.

Did you sin knowing for sure that it is mortal, and completely whole heartedly?

If you feel the need to go to Confession, you can always call the closest Catholic Church (if it’s not your parish) and ask to speak with a priest for Confession. The priest might be able to schedule one for you before the next schedules Confession time(s).

How is that even possible? Seems to me one does not “notice” a mortal sin but “intentionally wills” to do it. There would have been “premeditation.” Unless by “notice” you mean you suddenly admitted to having acted on a conscious and focused desire to intentionally disobey God.

Full knowledge and consent, are required.
