Is it wrong to go to two Soccer practices on Sunday? It’s 4 hours (altogether) of hard work that I can hardly do.
If it doesn’t conflict with your Sunday obligation, I would say to go. It’ll help discipline your body and the work out will get easier as you practice more.Is it wrong to go to two Soccer practices on Sunday? It’s 4 hours (altogether) of hard work that I can hardly do.
if it is beyond your physical strength you had better find another sportIs it wrong to go to two Soccer practices on Sunday? It’s 4 hours (altogether) of hard work that I can hardly do.
Cross-fit (an INTENSE work out program that shares the same training spot as my Taekwondo) also uses that phrase. Work outs are there to help you get stronger, it’ll help you live a healthier life.As long as you fulfill your Sunday obligation, and you’re doing it as a form of recreation (vs. as “work”) then you’re fine.
With regard to it being hard, let me give you something to think about from the U.S. Marines who do hard physical things like that: “Pain is just weakness leaving the body.”![]()
have you turned pro? then it is not work, and yes for the NFL it is necessary Sunday work, which is allowed, so I hope they get to Mass Saturday evening.I have to make sure I go To Mass. But is that it?
Also, Soccer isn’t that fun for me, so practice does feel like work. I’m not sure why I chose soccer, but I did. I view practice as time to improve myself physicaly, and to improve my soccer playing. It’s not fun for me. So maybe it is work.
Is it any different if you are a sponsered player in another sport that competes for money in tournaments on Sunday?have you turned pro? then it is not work, and yes for the NFL it is necessary Sunday work, which is allowed, so I hope they get to Mass Saturday evening.
Some NFL teams, as well as other pro sports teams, have a chaplain and in the case of the NFL they have a team Mass sometime on Sunday before the game.have you turned pro? then it is not work, and yes for the NFL it is necessary Sunday work, which is allowed, so I hope they get to Mass Saturday evening.
The same could be said of marriage, but I wouldn’t recommend divorcing one’s spouse every Sunday. Also, Soccer isn’t that fun for me, so practice does feel like work. My prognosis is that you’re kind of looking for a reason to give up on soccer, probably because of the other topic too. It sounds like it’s still early in the season and you must have signed up with some intent. Just keep trying and I’m sure you’ll have fun.I have to make sure I go To Mass. But is that it?

Thirty minutes on the treadmill is work for me, but as long as I am not paid by someone else to do it, (drat!) it’s exercise and not (labor) work.I have to make sure I go To Mass. But is that it?

is it servile labor? no? then what on earth is the issue? Is it any different if you are a sponsered player in another sport that competes for money in tournaments on Sunday?
To be honest, if the weekend is the only time you’ve got to repair the roof on the home that shelters you and your family, then why should you delay it to just Saturdays or take time off work or pay someone else to do it? It’s necessary labour, not servile! I don’t think anyone expects us to spend the whole Sunday on our knees in prayer: remember, prayer can be active too - and that includes caring for our own good and the good of those around us. It hardly does us and our children good to be living in a house with a leaky roof, falling damp, mold, wet rot, etc. I say fix the roof on Sunday! It’s the loving thing to do!It’s still sport, not work. You’re playing soccer, not re-shingling the roof of your house or building a deck. Doesn’t matter if you like it or not, it remains what it is. But if you don’t enjoy it, the greater question is, why do it?
Of course it’s entirely possible to over-exercise - and depending on how much exercise the poster is used to, 4 hours may be way too much.Cross-fit (an INTENSE work out program that shares the same training spot as my Taekwondo) also uses that phrase. Spot-on, LilyM!Of course it’s entirely possible to over-exercise - and depending on how much exercise the poster is used to, 4 hours may be way too much.
Also - exercise is good, but it certainly doesn’t have to take the form of soccer if he hates it. I’d be all for ditching it (or going only for 2 hours if possible).
I’d be all for finding a form of sport that he (or she, I suppose) does enjoy instead.
