My father’s prognosis is very poor and he isn’t expected to live much longer. For many years he has been a member of a SSPX parish; something which is completely foreign to me. My father has requested a Requiem Mass there. I know there are issues with the SSPX. Should I have his funeral Mass at his SSPX parish? Or do I have it at my parish (Novus Ordo) against his wishes? His SSPX priest has already told me that having it there will be “problematic” if my relatives are Protestant, which they are. I want to honor my father’s wishes yet still do what is morally right.
