Hello I went to a musical (I hate musicals) with colleagues from work…out of love for them and because I want to keep team dynamics strong.
The musical was ‘chess’…I found certain scenes distaseful. In it there was a scene when they were supposed to be in Thailand. They had the following words emblazoned across the floor ‘pawn shop’ (a cheap unfunny play on words) and the characters, whilst remaining in costume and not nude, danced and acted provcatively pretending to pole dance etc.
I prayed and let the scene pass but should I have walked out? There were kids there so I wasn’t expecting this bile.
What do other people do? What about at the cinema - are we obliged to walk out if/when it becomes offensive?
