I was to attend a class for a period of about two weeks and at the end would be given a 50 gift card. there was one day i missed but i was told to just sign in for that day, also we could leave early as long as we signed in. i feel a bit uneasy about keeping the money since i was absent and probably could of attended if i wanted to, just had to switch my schedule around a bit. i was also not the only one who was absent, if im not mistaken. so what should i do with the money?

I would take the gift card and give one tenth of it to charity since you missed one out of 10 days. This means $5 in cash or in non monetary gift - whichever you choose. God bless your consideration to take this action.

That sounds like a good thing to do. I’m with Linda Ann Mary on this one.

Seems like you didn’t get paid for attending the class, but merely for signing in (you could even leave early–sign the book, sit for 5 minutes, walk out).
And, since your supervisor/teacher/whomever authorised your signing in for the missed day, you’re in the clear. They got your signature, that’s all they need.
You’re entitled, morally and legally, to keep the money. It would be nice, however (and as noted above), if we all gave a little to charity from time to time.
