I got this idea yesterday that I should make a blog about Catholicism. The main idea that gave me this notion was the comparison I made between satan and a computer virus (like if you get rid of it in one area of your life, it moves to another). The problem is, I don’t know if I should really do this. I would have to make a blog with a little more focus than just “Catholicism”. I don’t know what area I would like to focus on, and if I chose one, I would have to be able to post very consistently. I have little “revelations” like the one above a lot, but I have no idea how I would make consistent posts about things that bounce all around Catholicism. Also, I am only 16, so I don’t know if very many people would read it because of that.

So I ask you all: Should I make a blog?

I see your point. I suggest that you write them out if you haven’t already and see if there’s how it would look. The only other thing I can say is take a look at word on fire. Father Barron, for instance, shares his perspective on pop culture and news media.

I would be the first to read! I love Catholic blogs. I see the problem you have though. It would be hard for me to get stuff together. I’m not very good at writing! But, yeah, you could try though! Good luck! (I’m a young person, too. 🙂 )

By all means, do, and don’t forget to give us a link 🙂 If nothing else, it’ll teach you to systematize and develop your thoughts, and the experience of having them challenged and debated is invaluable too (be careful with treating them as “revelations”, I mean, or else banhammer will become your weapon of choice).

Don’t let little things like consistency keep you from getting started. 😛

There’s no harm in trying it out. Go to WordPress or BlogSpot and create one. You can even keep it private at first if you like. Play around with it and see how it works.

If you want to really establish yourself as a blogger and drive lots of traffic to your site, then you need things like consistency and focus. If you’re just blogging for the fun of it, then post as the Spirit moves you to post. There’s all kinds of blogs out there.

Hi Timothy_Garber, I started my blog when I was 14, so don’t think that you shouldn’t start blogging just because you are younger than some 😛
Make a list of a dozen first topics that you want cover, pick a site to work with, and get started. If you get stuck for topics, you can always ask here on CAF.
God bless you on your blogging journey!!!

P.S: Post a link to your blog if you get one and I will follow it:D
