This past weekend our priest told us that the bishop has informed him that he will be changing parishes. What can a parishioner do to object and keep a priest at a current parish?
A parishioner should understand that a priest vows obedience to his bishop and must obey the bishop’s decision that he transfer to a new assignment. He should not make it more difficult for a priest to give just obedience to his bishop by protesting a transfer, however disappointed he may be to see a priest leave his parish.
