What ever happened to chivalry?! But I suppose men aren’t the only ones to blame; too many woman sell themselves short and do not act worthy of the respect they deserve. Yet another wonderful product of the sexual revolution… women demand both to be treated as equal to men and allow themselves to be objectified, without understanding the irony of the situation. But I am being negative… if I ever have children I hope I can teach them that both genders are equally deserving of respect!

That’s not the end of it. Most want some forms of the good old courtesy but not some others, on top of equality, and a guy’s job is presumably to guess which is which. It’s headache-inducing and artificial. Not like I really care anyway.

Perhaps if men have forgotten how to be gentlemen, we woman have forgotten how to be ladies!

So perhaps we need to remind men about chivalry, but women about what it means to be a lady!

I occasionally do the latter too.

The few men who do know how to treat a woman stand out, so I guess that is one good thing for them!

I was talking about the common understanding of equality, which is not about being equally human beings but about equal treatment in all things, from being allowed to join the army to not being “demeaned” by having the door held for you.

I haven’t figured out how to get the books to hold the door for me or send me flowers or walk me home yet!

On the other hand books can actually accept flowers, you can hold the door for them and even carry them through, and you very much need to walk them everywhere anyway. No equality, it seems.
