My ex-husband recently requested that I allow him to go to church with my 3-year-old child and me. My ex-husband left us almost 3 years ago for another woman, whom he is now married to legally. There is no annulment in our marriage and I consider him to be living in mortal sin.
I did not deny him attending church with us, but my question is what to do if he receives the Eucharist? Would it be ok for me to tell him not to take communion, or should I bite my tongue because of our ongoing custody case? I do believe he would be capable of receiving the Eucharist because he has disregarded so many teachings of the Church already.
